Subject: Re: £90 SIMPLE SINGLE ROOM WITH............TEANANCY AGREEMENT ATTACHED
Hello,
Am glad you receive my council tax bill for your reference so as to clarify that i am the true owner of the flat. It was advised by the metropolitan so as to give intending flatmate an evidence as well. I have also attached picture of the flat and room you would be staying for you.
Regarding the deposit, International bank to bank transfer takes several weeks to reflect and sometimes don't even reflect so that why my solicitor advised me on a safe, secured way to make the payment with a Money Transfer Service like Western Union since it is more reliable and faster.
You would need to go to a post office nearest to you or your bank when you get there ask for the western union money transfer department, they will provide you a slip to fill when you fill the slip you will now get back to me with the info you used to fill the slip. once i receive the details i would got to the Council office to process the payment and a receipt would be issued in regards of the deposit which shall be sent to you immediately and you would bring the receipt along with you while coming to London.
It will be nice to have you around soon, a restaurant was newly open in the area and i would like us to visit the place together when you here to celebrate your arrival in London.
Have a wonderful day.
Cheers,
Bertha
The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".
Another variation of this scam is that you need to send (by Western Union) money in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you
He will ask you to send him the transfer details.
Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.
If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
