Good morning Flatmate,
How are you doing and i hope you had a wonderful weekend ? Mine was lovely though, having it in mind that i now have a new flatmate. Thanks for sending me your International Passport, that's good of you.
Yes,here is the contract papers and i am quite happy that we would soon become flatmates officially soon. Please, read carefully and make sure you understand all details ,then you would have to append your signature where necessary as well and send it back to me for documentation.
I would also want you to send me a copy of your travel details as soon as you have it so that i can have it in my schedule to receive you at your landing destination like i have always done to my past International flatmates in order to take you directly to the flat from there.
I have already sent you a copy of my council tax bill from the Westminster council here in London for your reference so as to clarify that i am the true owner of the flat and a copy of my International passport as a form of my identity which i have already sent to you in my previous e-mail.
The Westminster council is the Governmental organization in charge of landlord's activities here in the Westminster council and every little details about we landlords are in their records. I hope you understand my point? I had to take my time to explain all this to you because my Attorney asked me to.
Regarding the security deposit and first month rent,i already explained to you about on a safe, fast and reliable way to make the payment which my past international flatmates have also used and confirmed it. It's through Western Union money transfer. You would be given a slip to fill, here are my details you would need to fill the slip:-
Full name:- Lindsay Condit
Address:- 16, Edge Street Kensington, London W8 7PN UK.
A receipt would be issued to you immediately the security deposit and rent has been made and confirmed here in London which i shall send to you immediately. You would bring the slip along with you when coming to London. Please,be reminded that the security deposit would be refunded back to you in full as it is also written in the contract papers.
I also want you to know that the room is already on hold for you as soon as you sign the contract papers and send it along with the payment details and the 10-digits number that would be given to you at the Western union office or you could just scan the copy of the receipt and send it to me as well for documentation.
I really look forward to reading from you and also look forward to receiving you in the flat as well.
Regards,
Lindsay.
PS:- Security deposit is 360pounds and rent is 360pounds a month (Total is 720pounds). The security deposit would be refunded back to you when you move into the flat.
The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".
Another variation of this scam is that you need to send (by Western Union) money in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you
He will ask you to send him the transfer details.
Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.
If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
