Hi,
My name is Haberkorn Robert, I am 55 years old and I am the owner of this apartment. I have lived in this beautiful apartment for 2 years and have enjoyed every day of it. The apartment includes parking, a storage unit where you can assume my furniture (if you want to bring your own furniture you have this option). There is also a laundry room with washing machine and dryer. Pets are allowed.
I am looking for a responsible person for it and hope you can tell me some personal information about yourself. The monthly rent is EUR 440 + 100 EURO utilities (water, electricity, internet, television, parking, air conditioning, fireplace, dishwasher, garbage disposal) thus, the monthly rent 540 €.
I don't have any pets and i also kept the apartment clean. This would be a perfect home for you. The only problem is that we have a DHL agency to use to close this transaction, an agency that will look for our best interest because i'm located in United Kingdom, London at the moment and i can't take the risk to come in Germany for nothing. I have already arranged with DHL, where I have left the keys and rental agreement signed by me to use their escrow service, a service that accepts the payment and delivery for us. If you are interested in renting my apartment please reply back and I will give you all the details about how DHL works step by step.
PS: I prefer to write in English as my German is not so good.
Thank you!

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or MoneyGram with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
