Thank you for the response to my listing, I'm the owner of the apartment you are making inquiry of. I recently moved my work in United Kingdom, but the rent is high here, I decided to offer for rent the apartment that i have in Singapore. I can rent the apartment for maximum 5 years. This is the period that I have a contract here in England, of course I can rent it for a shorter period as well. The apartment is furnished and it is exactly as in the photos. The rent for 1 month is $850 and includes all your utilities (water, Internet, cable). You can enter the apartment on the same day when receiving the keys. We will use a shipping company who will transport you the keys.

First of all , I want to tell you that if you are ready to proceed with this transaction I will need to inform you the steps about how this service works.
You will have 2 days to inspect the apartment before your final decision to rent . I will pay the shipping costs.
This is how they work :
1) I will make the delivery papers at DHL Express.
2) After I will make the papers for delivery they will require for your payment confirmation of the first month and the guarantee deposit($850 + $850 = $1700) to the company. DHL Express will send you a delivery notification to let you know they have the Keys and the papers in their custody .
Also DHL Express will give you further instructions about the money deposit .
3) After the payment is confirmed the delivery process will start and when you will receive the keys, you will have 2 days inspection period before your final decision to rent .
4) If all is in order, you will instruct DHL Express to give me the money. Further rents will be sent directly to my bank account.
5) If you refuse to rent the apt , DHL Express will give you a full refund ($1700) and you will give them back the keys and the contract.

The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".
Another variation of this scam is that you need to send (by Western Union) money in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you
He will ask you to send him the transfer details.
Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.
If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam.
