Hello,

Thanks for your response and for answering my questions,am also from Canada too, will attach a passport of mine to know we are both secure..cos i do hear about the scam you mention in you last message, the apartment is located at Urtehaven 32, 2500 Valby, Denmark and the neighborhood is mostly families Two years ago, I Inherit the apartment from my late mother who is from Geneva. It's because am the only child and also here working for my company in United Kingdom and there is no way i could come to take good care of the apartment myself that's why i am looking for a reliable tenant who is going to take good care of this apartment for me in my absence.

Whenever i traveled like that, I make use of house agent or a friend of mine over there but they cheated a lot on my tenants and my tenants complains a lot about it,that's is the reason why i took the keys along with me because i don't want my apartment to be used anyhow in my absence.

Also,I would like to put my trust in you.

So I hope you can promise me that you are going to take very good care of my apartment in my absence.

For you to get the place reserved we will both sign a rental agreement contract which will be prepared by my solicitor then i will post the keys of the apartment and the payment receipt to you via DHL express (1-2 days delivery ) after your deposit payment which is your first month rent and the security deposit has been confirmed.

Do get back to me with the below information so that we can proceed further:

Your full name:
Your full address:
Nationality:
Passport id:
Phone number:
Mobile Number:
Date of birth:
Move in date and out:

I shall be waiting for the above information soonest. Please make sure you send me your correct current address because i would use that in posting down the keys and the payment receipt to you after we must have concluded the contract and want to assure that the place will be availble from the mid of august you need, cos am so happy giving out the place to my fellow citizen cos we are one, looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards

The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".

Another variation of this scam is that you need to send (by Western Union) money in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you

He will ask you to send him the transfer details.

Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
