Supposed Mr Dan Johnstone [[email protected]] has posted an ad on Roomsforlet (http://www.roomsforlet.co.uk/property/?id=278569) - WELL FURNISHED TWO BEDROOM FLAT FOR RENT ON WARD in ISLINGTON, but he is a scammer.
He pretend working with Standard Chartered as foreign exchange manager in Wales, but refuses any contact through Skype and at last, when I've asked him a landline phone, he has given me +447045768114, which you can find also in viewtopic.php?f=42&t=21641.
I've also asked him the exact address of the property: no more answer!
Below, you can find the mails:

Hi Dan,
I understand you are busy, but if we can’t see each other on Skype, I’m not willing to go on.
Could you, at least, give me a number of fixed phone so that I can call you?
Thanks
Antonio

Hi Dan,
Thanks for your early reply to may advert: I’ve just received your reply regarding your ad in http://www.roomsforlet.co.uk/property/?id=278569 and I’d like to take advantage of your offer for more details.
First of all, I’d like to know the exact address of the building and the floor of the bedrooms.
I’d like to have some more pictures of the bedroom advertised, some of the common rooms (kitchen, etc.) and of the building.
You write that bathroom is private: does this mean that the tenant would be the only user of it?
Which services are included (washing machine, TV etc.)?
How many other bedrooms are there?
Council tax is included too?
What does “Phone included” mean? Are phone calls to England included? To Italy too (excluded cell ones, obviously)?
Should you like, we could get in touch also through Skype: just drop a line and I’ll give you my skype-account.
Best regards
Antonio

Oggetto: Email me back to proceed

Hi,

There won't be any problem meeting with your friend to proceed with viewing on your behalf. But before travelling up to London and meet with your friend I'll need to be sure of your capability and seriousness regarding the flat and also to be sure your friend will turn up for viewing as at when scheduled. It is unfortunate that my past bitter experience of inviting people to come and view my flat without any form of confirmation of their financial ability and not keeping up to time as at when scheduled, has brought about great loss to me, is either they cannot afford the rent or the security deposit required but want me to come up with the aim of renegotiating.

Some outside tenant do not have the funds for the rent and deposit but yet they disturb landlord to arrange viewing with there friends or relatives in London while they failed to turn up for viewing this has lead many landlord's loosing there job from there employee. Sorry if I have sounded intrusive just that I want to be sure of your capability of funding both rent and the deposit on meeting with you or with your friend.

I have resolved that any potential tenants should be able to prove in the following way in order to determine who is financially buoyant and that he or she can stick to appointment when scheduled and able to pay his/her rent as at when due. In this case, a bank-statement or guarantee from your organization wont be accepted as we have had wayward tenants tendering fake documents.

This is what you will need to do make a transfer of £1010 which stand for a month rent and security deposit to your friend whom is going to view the flat on your behalf using western union money transfer. Making your name as the sender of the transfer to your friend as the receiver in UK. Email me the scan copy of the transfer receipt showing the transfer has truly been made to your friend. The procedure is safe and secure since your friend will be the one to receive the funds on meeting. I only need to confirm you have the funds as I don't want to be taken for a ride anymore regarding the flat and note I'll be the one to refund back to you the transfer charges whether you decide to rent the apartment or not.

Let me know if you are okay with this procedure?
