Yes it is 100% scam.
Enter this part of the text to a Google search and you will see how large this scam is and the number of warnings.
put all my worries off concerning the maintenance of the house, Since i am not residing there for now. I left behind some Facilities and electronics, air conditioning, alarm system. also i will

Aside from the search, I can see very clear indications that this is written in African English. I won't go into details because we like our scammers to remain ignorant. Glad you asked and didn't send money in advance. All such requests for up front money, usually by Western Union or MoneyGram are scams regardless of the excuse or reason. Cut off all contact with this criminal and don't tell him what you know.

I have been contacted by the same person! Same email as the one in the above post, details about his person, occupation slightly different... He has also received a copy of my passport, is it very common that copies of passports are used by scammers in the future? Can I report him somewhere? I am really worried it will somehow lead to further problems!
Now his "lawyer" is trying to convince me and is spamming me to transfer the funds to his company - obviously via Western Union.

Hello mmech,

Please post the details that are differant. This will help others avoid this scammer. Scammers can sometimes reuse a victims passport to try and scam other victims. There is not really anything you can do to avoid this now that the scammer has it.

Best thing to do now is just ignore the scammer completely. Just delete the emails. Eventualy they will give up and go away.

Below the the email in question; as you can see now he calls himself Leo instead of Leonhard and he has changed profession > real estate instead of researcher; Hope this helps, and let me know if you are interested in the email from the lawyer too! Also, I couldn´t find him online immediately, because of Leo instead of Leonhard; once googled with full name I found your forum...
