Subject: Re: $485 Clean Furnished Room Available For Rent (White Plains)

Thanks for your interest in my room. The room is available for short and long term, the building is in a great location situated in the quiet and safe area and offers secure access. The Building offers internet: wifi & cable, laundry in-suite, storage facilities, heat, water, electric e.t.c and parking is included in the rent also

I just relocated to Manilla here in Phillipines,I just got a new job and am looking to rent out one of the rooms in my apartment,The room is Available for immediate move in. its a 2 bedroom & 2 bathroom and a large living room apartment,The Monthly rent is $485 including utilities and $400 for damages deposit,The other room is not occupied,i will be the one to live there whenever am around,I don't want my apartment misused in my absence that is why I took the keys and documents along with me. So I hope you will promise me to take very good care of the room always.

I want you to drive by the apartment building today to view the exterior,I dont have anybody that can show you the apt, when you check out the exterior, kindly get back to me so that I can forward the full interior pictures and application form to you, then we can proceed to how the keys will be delivered to you

The apartment is Located at : 210 Martine Ave White Plains, NY 10601

Thanks for your interest and hope to hear back from you soon
Regards

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
