Hello,

Thanks for getting back to me,I am very glad you are interested in renting my apt.I am married for 15 years and blessed with a daughter, very hard working ,religious...I am now located in Portland,Oregon on exhibition and won't be returning to the apt until a 2 years.

I am looking for responsible tenant that is going to be taking good care of my apt while i am away and i will be trusting you that you are going to be taking good care of my apt as i left it,the apartment is for long term and short term lease is also acceptable. Here is the address of the apt 3555 Warburton Ave Santa Clara, CA 95051. The rent is $420 per month which include all the utilites and the Security Deposit is $400 and it will be refunded back to you at the end of your stay in the apartment.

The Apartment is furnished.I will like you to tell me your experience with renting..I was wondering maybe i can send you the application form for you to fill out. Also i will like to know when you want to take possession of the apartment so that we can discuss how to get the keys and neccessary documents to you.

I await your prompt response ASAP.

Joshua

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
