Hi,

Viewing is not a problem, but i need you to understand that there are several interested tenant. To be sure if after viewing and you are okay with what you see and to confirm you have the funds needed to move in, I want you to have a month rent and deposit sent to any of your relatives or family members within London through western union. The reason for the receipt is to prove to me you have the funds at your disposal and that serves as a proof. Once the transfer has been made, a copy of the transfer receipt should be sent to me for confirmation of funds on western union website.

Upon confirming it, i will come over and we would proceed to viewing. After viewing, if you are okay with what you see, we would both go to the nearest western union outlet, you as the receiver collects the money out and you pay me in cash in exchange with the keys to the property and all other documents signed. The charges incurred in the process of the transfer would be refunded to you once we meet whether you decide to take the apartment or not.

NOTE- The transfer should only be made between you and any of your friends or your relatives. NO MONEY SHOULD BE SENT TO ME I ONLY NEED IT AS A PROOF.

Regards.

This person asks for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent (for a property that he does not own) due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union, MoneyGram or bank transfer either to him, his lawyer, your friend or a family member.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, this person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or Moneygram with the promise that they will send the keys through a courier company.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
