Thanks!
Also looking for housing in stockholm and this seemed amazing (too good to be true). Skyped with Daniella Reho, who didnt seem to mind that we'd never met and was totally fine that i didnt want to move in until 3 months later. Told me that the landlord lived in germany but it was a swedish bank account. She was unwilling to tell me her own phone number.

Hello...

Can someone tell me if they know the real Daniella??

I contacted her and my experience has been nothing like what is above. No money upfront etc...so now I am just checking to see if she is real and knows what happened...

And...if she is really renting out her flat.

Thanks
Michelle

This person asks for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent (for a property that he does not own) due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union, MoneyGram or bank transfer either to him, his lawyer, your friend or a family member.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, this person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union or Moneygram with the promise that they will send the keys through a courier company.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Hello,

After having read this post and all the replies I am now certain that I have been scammed by the same person you mention - this case is an apartment in Switzerland. I have been in touch with the same "email address" and name.

I have already paid the person approximately 1300 US dollars for deposit and rent for one month and I realize that I will probably never see that money again. It is of course extremely frustrating and I feel very powerless and would like to do anything I can to spread the word about this person's illegalities. I’m however unsure of how to proceed now.

Is there anything I can do besides contacting the police in my country and reporting the person?

I'm very grateful I found this post when Googling the name of my contact person and I cannot believe I didn't do so earlier in the process.

Thanks for any input.

Welcome to Scamwarners Bingo999,

I am sorry you were scammed. Scammer do make things look believable. You are not the first nor the last. Can you get your money back? Most likely not. If you paid by Western Union or Money Gram you can check whether the money has been picked up. If it was by Bank Transfer you can contact your bank. If made by Paypal and funded with a credit card you can contact the issuer for advice.

You can report this to Law Enforcement. In most cases the scammer is out of the jurisdiction of Law Enforcement and in a country where the police can be bribed or corrupt.

Posting the scammer emails to you and removing your personal information can do a lot of damage to the scammer. He will lose possible victims when they google his script or email address.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.

Hi Bryon,

Thanks for your reply. I don't know if I could ask you to confirm that I have been scammed by taking a look at the email correspondence I have had with this person?

I can see that it is definitely the same email address and name as stated above so I'm quite certain, but it would really be nice to get an expert's view on it. Can I post the emails here?

Thanks in advance.
