Hello,

My name is Hanneke Radeken, I am 38 years old woman and I worked as a civil lawyer in Amsterdam. My contract period there expired and now I've moved in London, United Kingdom where my husband was born and I've opened my own lawyer office here. Due to this fact, I can rent the apartment from 1 month up unlimited time.
The apartment is located in zone Grachtengordel, Laurierstraat 23, 1016 PN Amsterdam. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen and has 60m2. The apartment is fully furnished and fully equipped!
I want to rent the apartment because I tried to sell it but I could not obtain a fair price due the financial crisis, so I've decided together with my husband to rent it.
The price for rent 1 month is EUR €530.00 with no extra costs and also includes all the utilities.
As I said before, I am in London now because I live here and I am the only person who has the keys and the papers of the apartment, but I have a solution to solve this problem, so you can move in the apartmentas soon as you receive the keys.

Thank you and I will look forward to hear from you soon!

Best regards,
Hanneke

Hi again,
It's nice to have a reply from you so quickly!

The apartment is available, you will only have to receive the keys and the contract to check it and see if you like it. No one could help me show the apartment because I don't know the neighbors.
In order of that, I've found a way for us to complete the transaction safely and fast. The solution I've chosen is provided by a international shipping company called Wiss Cargo Ltd.; they handle rentals for people who are unable to solve them alone, which are abroad, so they will take care both the delivery and payment issues. For more details about this company, please visit their website: http://www.wisscargo.com . I will pay the shipping costs and Wiss Cargo transaction fees!
Regarding the monthly payments I want to receive them in my bank account so I hope it will be no problem for you.
I would like to know more details about you... this just to know us better, it is very important for know who will live in my apartment.
I think you can understand me, and finally I request money for 1 month of rent + 1 month warranty.

Hope to hear from you soon and I'll explain you more about how we will do this.

Best regards,
Hanneke

The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".

Another variation of this scam is that you need to send (by Western Union) money in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you

He will ask you to send him the transfer details.

Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Dear Michelle

Thank you very much for your answer!

The Moneybookers system for this type of transaction is called Skrill.
I will inform you about how this service works. You will need to deposit into Moneybookers bank account the money for 1 month of rent + 1 month warranty=EUR €1.060, so they can proceed with the shipping and you will receive the keys and the contract. I will explain you step by step how Moneybookers service works:
- To start the transaction I will need your shipping details (name, address etc.) so I can go to the Moneybookers office and make all the legal arrangements.
- Moneybookers will check the envelope and if everything is in order they will send you a payment invoice to let you know they have the package in their custody.
- After you will receive the payment invoice, you will need to make the money transfer in their bank account.
- After the transfer is checked, you will receive the package in 2-3 days at your address. Then, you will go together with the their agent to see the apartment and you will have a period of 24 hours to decide if you keep it or not. If you don't like the apartment by any plausible reasons, the Moneybookers Agent will give you the money back or send it to your account, and you will send them the package back to return me on my expense. All this time the company will keep the money in holding, I will receive it only after the contract is signed!
If you agree then, you need to send me your full name and address so I will be able to make all the arrangements with the Moneybookers company.

Thank you and I wait your answer as soon as possible!

Best regards, Hanneke
