Hello,

Thanks for your email and interest in renting my house. I am the owner of the advertised house on craigslist ads. I resided in the house with my family, my wife and my only daughter before and just presently we moved out due to my transfer on Christian Missionary Assignment in Africa. Also included in my assignment is to provide support program to Babies with abnormal formation and growth disorders. My missionary assignment here would span a period of between 4-5 years.

Basically, i am interested with three qualities in my prospective Tenant.
1) Honesty / Integrity- Someone who morally chooses to do the right thing.
2) Ability to Pay: I would want someone that would be able to pay.
3) Cleanliness: Most importantly, i would want someone that would take good care of my House in my absence. Neatness and good maintenance culture is all that is required as the rent is not a priority at this point.

House Address: (117 McMonagle Avenue, Pittsburgh PA 15220)
Monthly Rent : $450

The House has a dramatic entry foyer . Extremely spacious rooms throughout with lots of big windows...nice and light! Very quiet, low traffic area. I believe its absolutely a perfect home for you and your family. Pets are allowed

SO IF YOU FEEL YOU ARE THE PERFECT TENANT FOR MY HOUSE, I WOULD WANT YOU TO FILL THE FORM BELOW

RENT APPLICATION FORM.

Looking forward to hearing from you with all this details so that i can have it in my file in the event of issuing the receipt for you and contacting you. I would wait for your feedback so that we can discuss on how to get the document and the keys to you,

The house is available for rent at the moment so you are free to move in as soon as you wish to...A Deposit of $300 (which happens to be the security deposit) is required before moving in. This deposit is refundable if at the end of the day you don't like the House but i am giving you the benefit of doubt that you would definitely like it. Since i am not around to show the House, you can just drive by to see the outside of the House. The keys and Documents have already been packaged and as soon as we reach an agreement, I would be sending them over to your present address for you to move in. The house will be available for rent for a period of 4-5 years so you have a choice of deciding how long you intend staying there...Feel free to call me for more information and arrangements on how to get the keys and other necessary documents delivered to you...my number is +234-802-682-8544 ).

Thanks and Remain Blessed.

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
