Hello!

I appreciate your interest!

The offer is still available. Don't miss out on this opportunity! I think $740.00 is a good deal!

Please check your attached file, I attached a few pictures of it, just so you can have a good idea of what the place looks like.

The apartment has just been renovated, it looks exactly like in the pictures, totally finished, fully furnished and I have the option of sending all my furniture into storage if you want to bring your own, no extra costs!

It comes with 2 parking spots and has all the facilities and the utilities:
- Washing machine, dishwasher, dryer, refrigerator, stove, oven, juice machine, iron, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, vacuum cleaner.

The all utilities are included in this price (rent/month). No extra fees!
It means:
- Water, sewer, trash, electricity, gas, cable and Internet.

It is very close, in walking distance to local transport, close to school, restaurants, and shopping, with very quiet neighbors and safe area!

The lease is flexible, can be month to month, min stay 3 months, max 7 years. The rent for 1 month is $740.00, for the entire apartment. The price will not increase monthly, it will remain the same for the whole period that the contract will be signed for.

I'm the owner of it, I love this apartment and it means a lot to me! You must understand, I'm not looking to make a business or a profit with it, I just want to find the proper tenant, someone who will treat and care my apartment like it was his own. It is unoccupied, clean, quiet and if you are really interested in this apartment, I want this rental to be as smooth as possible, I really need to take care of this matter by the end of the next week.

I just need your answer and I will send you more details ASAP.

Thanks for your interest!

Weber John

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Unfortunately, the police cannot do a thing about it. The scammer is far out of their jurisdiction.

This may be the same scammer, or there may be different scammers working in a gang using the same scripts. In either case, the scammer may be advertising apartments in the United States, but he is not in the US, and has never been in the US. He is most likely in Africa or Malaysia.

Unfortunately, international investigations are extremely complicated and costly. Because of the costs and the red tape, generally losses in the hundreds of thousands of dollars have to happen before an investigation will even be initiated, and the investigations themselves are far from easy. He is using fake names, and stolen photos. He has absolutely no connection to any of the information he is using. He is very likely using an internet cafe used by hundreds of other people.

We encourage victims of these crimes who have lost money to report the crime. In most situations, if you haven't lost money, there is nothing to report, as the scammers haven't committed a significant crime yet. In the US, internet crimes should be reported to IC3. But--we also want victims to be aware that chances of getting their money back are nearly zero. Chances of a full-scale investigation being launched are also nearly zero, except in the rare situation in which the crime is connected to an existing investigation. But reporting the crime is still important, because the authorities need to understand the depth of the problem in order to ensure resources are allocated to address it.

This is why education is so important--right now it is the only real preventive available.
