Hi
Thanks for the prompt in response,.I will need your
seriousness and renting the flat and to be very sure you are ready for it i will need you to proof your financial capability by making a
transfer for the 1months rent and the security deposit to a friend of yours name through western union because I'll need to take a day off
from work in order to be able to come down London to
show you the flat and handover the keys to you the same day we meet for
the viewing because am the very busy type and i won,t be able to come
down to London all the time. which is why i need to get my self
prepared that on the day of viewing and sign all other important
contract of the flat which i will be coming down with.i would like to
ask this few question from you.
How many of you are coming to live in my flat?
Can you take care of my flat as it is?
Can you come along with your identity when you coming for viewing?
How many months do you intend to rent and pay for?
Do you have references in London?
Before
i can come down to show you the apartment.I will need to be sure of
your readiness and capability of renting the flat Therefore,I will want
you to make a transfer of 1 month rent plus security deposit which is
(£400+£600=£1000). by going to the closest western union outlet that
you know is more nearer with a friend or someone close to you and make
the transfer as your name being the sender and your friend as the
receiver or any of your family members. then you scan me the receipt
which i will need to prepare the tenancy agreement
form which
i will be coming down with on the day of the viewing and we you pick
the money back since you will be the receiver to the money, then we
proceed by signing the contract/tenancy agreement form and handover the
keys to you and pay me in person cash .
We
shall sign the contract form same day of the viewing and you pay me my
rent in Cash and i issue out a receipt to you. So follow the procedure
so we can meet up.
Read
carefully, Am not telling you to transfer the money to me, all i said
is to transfer to a friend,s who can later help you pick back the
money and all i need from you is the receipt which is going to be
issued to you by western union to prepare the tenancy agreement form i
will be coming down with and the keys to the flat.
AS
SOON AS YOU GET THIS DONE EMAIL ME OR CALL ME ON 070240769636 AND YOU
SCAN ME THIS RECEIPT I WILL FORWARD TO MY LAWYER AND HE CAN PREPARE
THE TENANCY AGREEMENT FORM WHICH I WILL BE PREPARING IN YOUR NAME AS
THE TENANT TO THE FLAT .
Note!!!!..The main reason why you need to get this transfer done is simply because
the copy of the transfer receipt will be needed to be attached to the
tenancy agreement form which my lawyer will be preparing and also to
secure my coming all the way from Cardiff to London not to be a waste
of time and which is going to guarantee my arrival to meet you, the transfer must be confirmed valid before the receiver picks up the money and also, i will refund back to you the cost of transfer when we meet.
write back to me asap

Kind regards,
Mr.Roy
The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".
Another variation of this scam is that you need to send (by Western Union) money in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you
He will ask you to send him the transfer details.
Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.
If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
