It started out as the typical missionary in West Africa story.. he asked for me to transfer, via Western Union, a deposit and first month of rent and he would send me the keys.
I decided to ask him for a proof of ownership and of ID before I would transfer anything (it was my first scammer so I still had the faith it might be a legit rental deal)... He repeated:
At this point he was getting very anxious and calling me at least 5 times a day, although I was not answering. By now I had already realized he was a scammer for I had received 3 other nearly identical emails from:

[email protected]
To see how far he could take this lie I insisted I wanted the certificate prior any transfer. He then send me this email:

This IS NOT, in any possible way, a certificate of ownership of an apartment. Don't let your self get fooled.

Thanks for your reply i am very happy to give out my flat to you so i want you to put your mind at rest that as soon as you make the deposit payment the keys and the document we be send to your Lisbon address because all your details is here with the shipping company and i want you to know that my ID card and my certificate of ownership we be attached to you as soon as the shipping agent ship out the keys i want you to know that i am a men of god and i can not tarnished my image because of money so all you need is to get back to me so that i can forward you the shipping agent details you are going to use to make the first month deposit as soon as the deposit is confirmed by the shipping agent the keys and the document we be send to you and you will received them at your door step the next day..

Thanks for your respond i am glad to read back from you i want you to know that i have already attached the certificate of ownership of my apartment so you can see it so all you need is to get back to me so that i can forward you the shipping agent details you are going to used to make the first month deposit and i want you to put your mind at rest that my apartment we be giving out to you,i call you number you did not pick my call tell me what is going on and i want you to know that as soon as the payment is com-firmed the keys and the document we be send to you and you will received them the next day i want you to know once again that i am a fearing men of god i can not tarnished my image because of money and i want you to take very good care of my apartment for me in case when i came for check up..
