Thank you for your interest in my apartment. Maybe I have a shot time to write this as I am at work now but I will try to give you a complete detail of the apartment. I was trying to open a recording studio in Brussels at the time I secured the apartment. I was really afraid to give the apartment out to a destructive person. We are trying to establish a new recording studio in Lagos now so the apartment will be open for 3 years and 7 months starting now that I am away and the apartment is empty.

The address is - Rue Charles Ramaekers 10, 1020 Brussels, Belgium.

The utility bills are included in the monthly rent of 350 euros, they are the wireless Internet, Electricity, Laundry, Water and the Flat screen Cable TV. The washer and dryer are in the apartment store room. If you are staying for 1 year and above the first month rent and the last month rents will be paid upfront before you move in, but if you are staying 5 months and below you will pay the first month rent only as deposit before you can move in.

The sleeping area offers a bright and spacious bedroom furnished. The clean en-suite bathroom, fitted with a large stall shower, and toilet. The kitchen is new and complete with everything including refrigerator and dishwasher and the oven. The living room has a flat screen with cable connected to it.

Do you keep pets? Have you rented a furnished apartment before? I don’t have a friend or family there yet and I am not interested in handing out my keys to outside agents that only want to rent out the place and make money for themselves. Instead I only want to deal directly with the tenant renting my apartment to bridge a good understanding.

If you are fine with my terms let me know and we will conclude this. I will sign a clear agreement with you and then accept the rent and then send the keys only to your present address. But if you don’t feel comfortable with my terms I advise you look for a different place to rent.

This is definitely a scam because the photos of the apartment sent to me were extremely beautiful and the flat far too luxurious to be rented out for 350€!
Here is the second email sent to me with the photos


Hello (yet again !!! my own name),

Your email actually put my heart to rest as this has been a big issue to me finding mature tenants. I have attached pictures so that you can see what my apartment looks likes. I need responsible tenants that will keep my apartment the way I left it. It is hard to find responsible tenants these days that is why I am doing this my self. I have everything in the apartment and it is close to stores and shopping.

I don’t know when you intend to move but I will send you my keys as soon as we agree to my rental terms and the first one month rent paid upfront. So you will have no further rents or extra fees to pay, you will only pay damages if at the end of your rent there are damages to my property then the cost of damages will be calculated and you will pay the damages at the end of your rent period. I need your answers to my questions here to complete the rental agreement.

Please provide answers to the questions-

What are your full names?
What is your present address where I am going to send you the keys?
What is your phone number where I can call you if I need to talk to you over the phone?
When exactly is your move in date?
When exactly is your move out date?
Will you keep any pets/how many?
Will you keep any car or will you need a car park?

I will complete the rental agreement after I get your reply to my questions. I am presently in Lekki, Lagos the DHL here operate fast registered services and normal delivery. I am sure DHL or FEDEX will deliver the keys to your present address by registered post in 28 hours. I am neat and I love clean homes I need a tenant that will love my things and treat my apartment excellently. That is the reason my monthly rent is low.

This add and the photos, I can assure you, look amazing ... almost too good to be true...!!!! This totally seems like a huge scam and I will post the next email if he answers me again. In the meantime... beware of dangerous people on the Internet !!

E350 is way too low for that kind of apartment. Beware of this guy!
