Hello,
My name is Alexander Becek and I’m currently living in Germany.
The flat is still available for rent.
The apartment has been redecorated recently and looking very nice and clean. It has fully furnished rooms and all home utilities necessary.
I’m more interested in finding someone trustworthy who can take care of this property then getting a lot of money out of it. (As you might have noticed I’m living in another country and my program doesn’t allow me monthly visits)

The apartment was rented by some students from Denmark until last month.
The price I want is £680.00 per month, bills included and I am totally interested in a long term agreement, for a minimum of 6 month!

If you are decided to see the property and have the money to rent it available, then I could come in one of the next few days. I will show you the apartment and sign the tenancy agreement as well.
I would like you to be pretty sure about this before I make any flight reservations as I have already came to London 2 weeks ago to meet a client that turned out to be a no-show.

I will wait for your e-mail,

The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".

Another variation of this scam is that you need to send (by Western Union) money in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you

He will ask you to send him the transfer details.

Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

I have had an email from Alexander Becek today, which repeats the above post verbatim.
He was advertising a flat on Craigslist:
"Re: £680 / 1br - 668ft² - 1 bedroom apartment Wapping Wall, Wapping, E1W (London)?"

I hope that others will be quick to find out that he is a scammer!

Hello,

I am glad you’ve showed interest in my property. I am more than willing to find a trustworthy tenant.
I have attached some more pictures, hope they are accurate enough in order for you to get a well informed opinion. The pictures were taken on my last visit there. You may ask any questions you might have, but I assure you they are quite the real thing. It wouldn’t be in my best interest to try and deceive you with my presentation.

I have also attached a draft of the rental contract so you may know my terms of agreement even before you visit the apartment.

The apartment location is Wapping Wall, LONDON, E1W 3SPbut I won’t give the exact address, as no one is living there for the moment. (I’ve already told you that).

As I am not a real estate agent, but an owner trying to rent his property I will answer all you questions as fair as I can, but I will try to make sure you are as serious as I am. I won’t travel back and forth for presentations only. If you finally decide to visit the place I would like you to be positive about your decision of renting.

Regards
Alexander

Hello,
We could meet and maybe sign the tenancy agreement on Saturday morning but you see these is due to previous predicament that I have gone through in the past trying to rent the property to some students, I have got to realize so many people are not really in need of an apartment all they do is secure a place in advance. My last experience in trying to rent the property to a particular lady had got me to predicate on these, she made me believe she was willing and ready to get the apartment she even went to the extend of showing me her statement of account, which made me took her for the viewing but after taking her for the viewing, she saw the apartment and got to love it and never wanted to loose it, so she kept pleading I retain it for her because she is not financially composed at the moment, which I did but end up disastrously.
So basically for me to be sure of you been willing and ready to get the apartment I will employ you walk into any Western Union agency in your area and send the total bill cash £ 1360.00 (one months rent and one month refundable deposit) to one of your friend's name, to whoever you want, whoever you trust (NOT to ME) with location of London or any other city in the UK. All I need is for you to get back to me with the receipt issued to you after making the transaction so I can confirm it! When we will meet in person to sign the papers we will go together to Western Union and you will withdraw the cash and pay me in hand or you can pay me by bank transfer! I just need to see that you do have the money available and you do have serious intentions in renting the flat! If the Western Union agent will ask you about the receiver you should tell him that is a relative of yours because the transfer fees will be cheaper! If you will tell them the reason you make the transaction they might consider this a commercial transaction and charge you more.
I do apologize for that but as I told you last time when I arrived to London to show the flat to a person everything was a stupid joke and I hope you understand me because I don`t want to waste my time and money on plane tickets..

Regards
Alexander
