Room for Rent and other rental scams

Hi all,

I moved recently to London from France and I found this website after receiving a scam via gumtree.
the email was [email protected] and I found its a scam on this forum.

So I checked the real website and they do have real email with their own domain name:
[email protected]

the offers are very interesting for someone who wont stay that long in this city, but it looks too perfect to me.
And a word about them would be helpful in my situation, I need to find a short for november fairly quickly.

frazhomes.com is registered for only one year, which is typical of scams, yet the site claims it was established in 2009. The registrant is in California, whereas the website claims to be in England. I put it down as most likely a fake site.

It is ALWAYS a scam
If the pet seller or shipper asks for money to be sent via Western Union, Money Gram, any brand of gift card. Walmart To Walmart , Zelle , PayPal friends and family option, or mentions Cameroon

I also received this email from an offer on Gumtree, and looks weird to me too:

it's very weird, this guy always answer to me at night time even during the weekend.

Hi guys,

Again, I have received the invoice for an apartment in London.
They said there is no agency fees, the owner of the apartment is paying for that.

They sent me a .xls file last night around 9.30pm, and nothing during the day.
And this guy is asking for a payment in the 24h to book the apartment, so it can only be a scam.
is there any way to post the .xls file on the forum?

Do "File|Save As...", and set the file type to "Text CSV (.csv)". That will produce a file which you can open in a plain-text editor (kwrite, gedit, ...) and paste into a message. It will lose all the formatting and formulas, but the text and columns will be there (you have to reload it into a spreadsheet program to see the columns).

Also, can you post the email headers?

The phone number proves it's a scam. They're only pretending to be in England.

Was sure about that, I will report that to Gumtree to close the ad.

Thanks for all your help guys, and hopefully it will serve to some other people.

I also checked this website " http://www.london-holidayrental.co.uk " and they do the same thing, they dont answer on the phone, I went to their adress and there is nothing (or its hidden somewhere).

here's the email they have been using, asking for the same thing and same process as the other guy:
