Here are the URLs for the apartments at that address: http://www.themelar.com/home.html, http://www.rosenycapts.com/No-Fee-Rental/The-Melar.aspx . The businesses at 120 West 26th Street are Crescent West 26 Associates?, Empire Pump & Motor Corporation, New York Novelties Inc?., and Susan Alexander, LMHC?. Rose's address is on Madison. It doesn't match up, and that you're being asked to send money to a bank account before seeing the apartment sounds very scammy.

100% scam.

In addition to the points VX made, here are a few other key points.
-The author of those emails clearly is not American.
-The rental process as described is not how a US rental is handled.
-The scammer also doesn't understand how terminology is used in the US, which results in a key (common but major) mistake.
-Thanks to a new law passed in 2011, it is against the law in New York for apartments to be rented for less than a month at a time. That means that even if the person writing you had an apartment for rent (he doesn't,) renting it to you for 5 nights would be against the law There are certainly people who are still renting out apartments in violation of the law, but no attorney would be involved in the illegal rental.
-A search of New York attorneys shows there is no Patricia J Sullivan registered as an attorney in New York.

yes the apartment is getting over booked and i don't want my guests to be in confusion so that is why i remove the posting

This is a typical scammer excuse given when a scammer's ad is removed after being reported fraudulent.

Hi,

I just found this post.

I booked a flat with this Sullivan and made a transfert of 960 US$ to the bank account he told me.
I have no news from him since then and I'll be in NC tomorow (coming from Paris) with my wife and my kids without a falt to stay in.

If you know what I should do please help me.

I am sorry Christian but the money has gone for good. You will need to sort out accomodation when you are there because what you have been told doesn't exist in any form at all. It is all invention from start to finish. You would not find anything at the addresses you are given so don't even try it. I hope you can find something.
