It is written the same way as all scams. Of course they want money first. They are scammers.

Sending a copy of a passport is a common scammer ploy. The passport is not of the person you are emailing. It is a passport they got from a previous victim.

Please post the email address this message came from.

Hi thanks for the reply. This is confirmed to be fake. I requested for a Skype session, or take a photo of the owner pointing to a specific object in the house( I previously received photos of the house). This is what the owner has to say:

i really understand you but i have give you many proof to know that you are dealing with right person and i want you to know that am very busy person and i dont have time to pay phone bill,so i can not make or receive call for now and i dont see why you are asking me this kind question..i want you to know that will are God fearing in our family will dont take what is not belong to us and i dont think i can leave with person that dont trust me.

i dont think i have chance to be take picture of my again..if you dont trust me..let me accept another offer....i have many offer for this room because you are the first person that contact me about the room that is why i dont respond to them but i think i will respond to them now because you dont trust me.

if you know that you need the room..make the deposit now and get back to me with receipt of the payment for the proof.

1. Firstly, since when does Skype requires payment for video conference
2. Secondly, does God guarantee that I won't get scammed? No.
3. The phrasing is as weird as it can get. Also some spelling errors.

Just to follow up by leading him on to see how desperate is he/she, this is what I have replied:

"I just want a Skype conversation which does not require you to pay any money. It would be free of charge using a wireless Internet. This would be my last request before I transfer the money, which is quite a huge sum. In sorry if it causes any inconvenience."

Scammer reply:

"i try do it now but my system does not support the skype..i want you to know that the money is not my problem but try do understand me...immediately you made the deposit to my mother bank account and you get back to me with receipt of the payment....by Tuesday i will send the Key of the room to you through FedFx ."

- so I managed to find the person's profile on Facebook that matches the passport. I sent a private message to that fb profile.

My reply:

"Is it possible that you can reply the message that i sent you on facebook? That would be the all the verification i need. After i have received your reply, I would immediately transfer the €800 to account number 30902799. Just to confirm its Barclays bank am i right?"

Scammer reply:
"i dont have facebook..i just want to open it now all because of you..i dont think i will go to this stress because i very easy person. give me your full name in facebook and i will add you"

- hello please I have his/her full passport details and managed to find the profile which matches the passport on Facebook. So how can this person not have Facebook?? Very obvious by now.
