Hello,

You responded to my Craigslist ad as regard the room which i have available for rent.

I am the only occupant of the flat and i will want to rent out one of the rooms so that i will not be all alone in the flat.

I am 28 y.o professional working female, i am an Oceanographer/Marine Biologist.
My rules in the flat is that you must smoke outside if you are a smoker, no party or loud music in the apartment, so as not to disturb the neighbors, you know when we respect them , they will in return accord us respect too and cleanliness is an order of the day in the apartment.

The room i intend to rent out has it private toilet and bathroom and you will also have a key to your room.

We will have to share the Kitchen(though you have access to everything in the Kitchen) and the living room.

There is TV and sounds system in the living room and the Kitchen is well furnished.
The monthly rent is $800 with everything included and one month security deposit is required before moving-in.

Let me know if this sounds as something that you will be interested in.
Cassandra.

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Hi,

The apartment is located at: 402 W 22nd St #100,New York, NY 10011, close to various restaurants and gas station and groceries stores.

The utilities are included in the rent and there is a washing machine in the apartment.

I work with the NOAA( National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration) under the United States Department of Commerce.

Attached are pictures for your viewing:

Below is the link to the street view of the address:

In order to proceed with the rentals procedures, our family lawyer will have to draw up an Agreement, which will be signed my the landlord and the tenant and the main reason for this document to be prepared is for the both parties to be legally secured.

The document will be sent to you via e-mail in order for you to read and understand and after which, if you eventually agree with the terms of the contract, proceed with the payment to the specified account and get back to us with the receipt of payment from your bank for reference purpose and I hope you understand what i am saying here?

In order to be able to prepare the contract, will have to let me know the definite day you would want to move-in to the apartment and as we as your moving-out date.

So also, you will need to forward to me, the scanned copy of your ID and i return, while i will be sending you the contract, send you the scanned copy of my ID too, in order for you to be rest assured that you are dealing with a legit and serious minded person.
Let me know if you want to proceed
