The rent is $1100 per month including utilities and security deposit of 600 which is refundable at the end of your stay... Thank you for posting the fake rental and scammer script. The phone number he is using is a re-direct phone number. He is trying to pretend that he is in the UK. The phone number is not a UK number it is a number that can be answered any where in the world.

Please post the scammers email address as this will help others avoid his scam attempts.

The scammer will send this if you tell him that he is a scammer. Once you figure out a scammer is a scammer just ignore them. Please do not confront them with it nor tell them they are posted on an Anti Scam Site. This will only cause the scammer to waste 5 minutes to get a new email address. Once they get a new email address any available warning is lost until a new victim post with the newest email address.

I receive your mail and the content of your message is well noted and well understand. I really know how you are feeling about this whole things, because you sound skeptic from your email, and that's very wrong, if you are thinking that I just wanted to take your money for nothing. When I know how you worked and earn your money, I will never think of taking some advantages over you and your money, please take that out of your mind, that is really awful thing on the earth that I will never think about doing.

Meanwhile, you need not to follow what's on site,because in my previous email i make you understand that My bank account was hacked which affect some of my personal email, a friend of mine has also informed me about this and also instruct me to shut down my former box.. Scammers will use emotions of the victim in order to complete their scam. The writing is clearly of someone from West Africa. There are also other signs this is a scam. I will not point them out because we do not want to educate a scammer.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam.

He's at it again. This time, in Calgary AB. He is using the name Douglas Perez. Email is [email protected]
Saying he works in Manchester UK with the same phone number as before. When confronted about the fishy send money before you get the document, he replies with the same reassuring email. Haven't sent ANY money but received an email saying he needs last months rent as well, which was suggested by his 'lawyer'.

This started on December 1, 2013
