Hello,

Good to hear from you and I'm REALLY satisfied with your filled application. Everything seems fine. I can see your willingness to rent the apartment and I shall be giving you the apartment for rent, please take good care of the apartment.

However, if you are ready to rent the apartment now, then that will not be a problem. The rent fee is $1175 and security deposit $585 which is REFUNDABLE at the end of your stay in the apartment. Also I will be sending the contents of the document below to you via UPS delivery service to the address you sent to me and the tracking number will be sent to you for you to verify the shipment details and also know the exact time the package will be delivered to your door step. I am giving you this based on the trust that you will take good care of the apartment, do not disappoint me and I promise you that you'll love the apartment.

The total rent fee for the first month plus security deposit is $1,760. Part of the fee will be used in paying the UPS delivery service in shipping the package to the address you gave me. I am doing this based on trust I have in you that you will take good care of the apartment.

So I am with the below document here with me and will be shipping them to you via UPS

Here are the contents of the document.
1) Entrance and the rooms Keys
2)Paper/Permanent apartment form(Containing your reference details)
3)The apartment documentary file.
4)Payment Receipt.
5)Full address and description of the apartment.

So kindly get back to me when you are ready to receive the keys and document so that I can send you the banking details in making the payment and then the keys can be sent to you asap. I await your swift reply.

Kind Regards!!!

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
