This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

I HAVE JUST BEEN SCAMMED BY THIS SAME MAN!
I need advise as to what course of action to take next.
I deposited the amount of $2000 cash to the same account information that is posted. The email and all the information here is almost exactly the same as the one i have. Please respond ASAP.

He also uses a fake email offering an escrow service. All communication from him is based on lies. The company mentioned in his emails do not offer this service.

He only wants your money and does not have a property to rent!

Protection and refund
Once the Keys and Documents is delivered, the Tenant has a 21 (twenty-one) days inspection period. After the inspection period is over, the Tenant will contact Uship Realtor with the results of the inspection. If, for any reason, the Apartment does not pass the Tenant's inspection, it will be returned to the Landlord, on Landlord's expense and the funds will be returned to the Tenant.

For safety reasons the payment details will be dealt with the utmost security and will not be handed to any third parties. Uship Realtor Service will be in full control of the funds as soon as it reaches the regional account. Once the funds have been sent to our regional account, no one but the Tenant will have access to it.
