Rental Scammer - [email protected]

Got this email from Melissa Edmond [email protected] . Her email didn't pop up as a scam, so I continued to talk with her. But she wouldn't answer any of my questions and moved forward with talking about moving in. I thought it was a language barrier, but then I found out this common story among many scammers! So just wanted to add this one to the list! Crazy.

Her first email:

Good to hear back from you, I'm interested in renting the room. Myname is Mélissa Edmond i was born in France (Paris) i speak bothFrench & English, am single, fun, loving, clean, loyal and respectfulof others, don't have any pet. More about me, my father is from US andmy mother is from France. I'm 22yrs old, sex female, i attend AmericanUniversity of Paris, graduated a year ago. I'm coming to stay for a year, and am coming for my master's degree.I'm currently in Alaska in a village "Nunivak Island" on a researchwork and will be coming soon... I'll be arriving November, i'll lovedto call you but here is a remote area calls are very hard to gothrough, please send me some picture of the room because i will not beable to come over and check on it before renting. Please tell me little about yourself...if you are a student?,working?, married or single?, if there is a garage or parking spacebecause i will be coming with my own car. Let me know the total amountfor the first month rent, i will be paying upfront so that you can berest assured that am really interested in renting the room from you... My mode of payment is US Check, so please feed me back with thefollowing details so that i can ensure you are ready to rent the roomto me. Thanks for getting back to me with the information requested. I gotthe information and i'll have it forward to my father to issue outpayment to you on time. I really appreciate that you are ready toaccept me roommate, please have little patience for the check toarrive to your address and also secure the room prior my arrival. I'lle-mail by giving you an update about the status in regards to thepayment and also provide the tracking number from the carrier service,further more i need you to take the ad down CL, that will give me astrong prove that the room has been hold prior my arrival so thatother interested people will not make any enquirer.. Regarding my Car.... I'm planning on having it delivered to youbefore my arrival so that you can come and pick me up at the airportand settle in comfortably, you can understand that transiting crossAtlantic is not easy so i am making arrangement with the car dealer todeliver the car before my arrival, once the rent and security deposithas been paid to you by my father. I'll ask you for a favor here, cani rely on you to take delivery of the car for me when it's delivered?, as you'll be handling the delivery of the car along with the rentand deposit, the car money has been included with the check coming toyou. I'll really appreciate if you can do this for me and promise tocompensate you adequately for your time and efforts on my arrival intoyour place. Hi, I'm so happy to hear this from you..thank you so much and i'm sograteful... One more thing pls, i will like you to take the add downCL so that no one will come requesting for the room, moreover is theroom furnish?, and which is the nearest airport to your place?. Hereis a pics of me to know how i looks like and pls do e-mail yours aswell so that i can know what you look like. I'll look forward to read back from you as soon as you receive my e-mail.

I just received a reply from her myself from the add I put up for my place here in NY. "She" keeps requesting my personal information for her dad to send me a check to secure the place, but then I googled the email and found this..

whew!It all sounded very appealing when she replied the second time until then..

The writing is not that of someone whose native language is French and English. It is the writing of someone who grew up in West Africa. Be rest assured that he is a scammer.

She/he has a new email address now.. [email protected]..same crazy emails from her and now she is upset that I said she is a scammer...
