Room for Rent and other rental scams

Here is another case this guy swindled money and identification information. He sent me a passport copy (probably the one he stole from somewhere) and a legitimate-looking agreement forum including lawyer's name. As to a payment method, he suggested moneygram or Western Union, but he also has his "friend"'s bank account or "girlfriend"'s paypal account. I used international bank wire transfer system to send money to his friend's bank account.

If this website can investigate this transaction further, I would love to provide details to a member of this website's team individually.

Attached below is the first reply from him. Thank you.

Thanks for posting, yxk198.

We are unable to investigate transactions but we do have a good relationship with most banks and we can report the account as possibly being involved in fraud. It is then up to the banks to monitor or close the account if they decide to take action.

You can post the details of the bank account here, which will help others who carry out an internet search on the same details, or you can send it to one of the moderators (their names are in green).

Either way, it will be reported to the bank in question.
