The person sent me a check by USPS Express Mail for the payment but I never got to deposit it 'cause I was out of town. She kept pushing me and telling me to hurry, but I told her to wait because I was really busy. On top of that, when I asked her if I could just send her travel agent a check, she kept saying no, and insist that I use Moneygram and CASH the check.I went ahead and deposited the check, but it turned out to be an unsufficient-fund-check. I emailed this person, and Gmail said the account was disabled forever.

So I hope that you avoid it and will not fall into the trap like I did.

I also got this scam. I was suspicious of it, but I was tired and desperate for a roommate. So I gave my name, address, number, and email. Later I thought.... this doesn't feel right and looked into it. I found the email on a list of reported scams. I immediately reported the email as "Phishing" and blocked it. However, I'm fearful of my information that I provided. Has anything else happened in regards to your information? Spam emails/Phone calls? Unauthorized sign up of services using your information? "Change of address" notifications?

Call me being extra paranoid but I'm hoping to find some answers. I already took some extra precautions but I wonder if I should take more. Hopefully this thread isn't too old and abandoned.
