Room for Rent and other rental scams

Got in touch with this scammer through expatriates.com via a listing of a room in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Procedure laid down in one of the documents prescribed upfront payment of first month's rent + deposit. Attached images were taken from a realtor website, the apartment was recently put up for sale. The owners mentioned in his email are not the real owners. Moreover the price paid for the apartment in the sale was EUR 717.500. Such an apartment should rent out for at least EUR 3000/month in total.

Email addresses used by scammer(s): [email protected], [email protected]. Website euexchangerooms.com is fraudulent.

Email from the scammer:

We have received your request for room (s) at Huidenstraat.
The rooms at Huidenstraat apartment have been booked, however the owners M.Schmitt & E.Mark have another apartment on Keizersgracht 495 available.
The Keizersgracht apartment has 3 double bedrooms, one of which is ensuite with its private bathroom.
The apartment is newly renovated in 2013.
Rents are €500/month for ensuite, €480/month for canal view bedroom, and €450/month for the 3rd bedroom.
Attached is description & photo file, contract and booking procedure.

Hi,

We are in Ireland the moment, please contact EU Exchange Rooms on: [email protected] , or +31-208946034.
They take care of the apartment, bookings, viewings and contracts. Leave them your contact number and they will call you back.
You don't have to pay any agency fees. I can also forward your request to them.

The fake domain euexchangerooms.com is in the process of being reported for fraud.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.
