What you are describing is a typical rental scam. The scammer will tell you that he is out of country or somewhere and will have to mail the keys or use an escrow service.
If you can not physically go inside the Apt to view it consider it a scam.
Do not send any money to anyone you have not met face to face. The scammer may even ask you to send the money to yourself, friend or family member. He will tell you this will be proof that you are serious and can pay. He will want the MTCN # or reference number. With this information he will pick up the money.
Please post the emails sent to you. Remove your personal information from them. Also post the email address and any website the scammer may have sent to you.
