I am trying to find a flat share in London. I had no idea about scams, so thank you very much for this website. I found one of the flats I was interested in on here already. This one I am now beginning to think is a scam also. The person asked me for my personal email to send the details, and now is asking for rent/security deposit via Western Union. Everything I’ve read says if someone requests money Western Union you should suspect a scam. I did not find this advertiser on scamwarners, but thought I would post. I would never send money to a stranger. If anyone has knowledge of this advertiser, thank you.
This are the two emails I have received (the document pasted into one of the emails is not convincing)

Hi
Thanks for getting back to me and your time estate to get to Waterloo station is quite correct. It should take you lesser than 30mins to get there, give or take 5mins.
I'm from Syracuse, NY and have lived in London for about 9 years while Matt is from Colorado and has been in London for about 2 years now. I lived in LA for about 8months between 2003-2005, I was working at a bank.
For how long do you intend to stay in London and will you be sharing the room with anyone?
To book the room, you will need to make an advance payment of the security deposit and two weeks rent(580 pounds). The security deposit will be refunded back to you two weeks after you move into the room(sort of a trial period).
You can make the transfer via Western Union and I'm willing to split the transfer fee with you. I attached a copy of my council tax bill as proof ownership of the flat.
