RENTAL SCAM - GUELPH

We Found a assuming apartment in Guelph that I thought was an amazing deal, just below the average price range for a place here, The Kijiji ad was believable enough, but when I emailed and got a response back it seemed really fishy to me. The description of the apartment differed slightly (saying there was carpet when the pictures didn't show any, etc.) There was no address either. But because me and my partner are looking for a cheap place this seemed great. Thanks to this site I was able to tell the scammer to find someone else. Here's the just of the emails from the scammer and me and my partner:

Thanks for your email response, i am so excited you are interested in my condo which i am giving out for rent. Actually the apartment is still very much available for rent. I resided in the apartment with my Husband and our 2 years son, Before we relocated here in Istanbul, Turkey, due to my Husband new post as the leading Evangelist here with CHURCH OF GOD THE GOOD SHEPHERD.

The apartment is available for $700 per monthly including the utilities, which i think is not too much, i just need someone with an open heart, love and clean to occupy the home and put all my worries off concerning the maintenance of the apartment . Since i am not residing there again. As i told you earlier in the apartment listing.

The accommodation comprises of 1 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom. Kitchen, Breakfast room, Bedroom, Bathroom and a separate WC..Facilities Internet connection, Electronics like satellite TV and which you have to pay for the subscription, a sony DVD player, air conditioning, alarm system ETC.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all necessary cooking utensils, refrigerator-freezer, four-hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.
Also the keys to the flat are right here with me, and the document. Which i can send to you after all necessary agreement has be accomplished.

Also i will like you to know that the rent charges is not really the issue , but your absolute maintenance of the apartment , because that is the only valuable property. So i wouldn't want an violation of my property if finally rented by you. I will like you to treat the apartment as your own okay.

Hi there I'm ***** partner we are very interested in renting your condo, it looks great however I was just wondering where in Guelph the apartment was located because I work in Acton and would prefer a place that can get out of the city quickly. We are very clean and i can do basic maintenance. Is there anyone living up stairs? I wouldn't mind a picture of the whole house if you had one as well. Again we look forward to renting and we will take the very best of your home.

This still made me feel fishy so I looked up THE GOOD CHURCH OF GOD and this site was the first that came up, after reading basically the same emails others had gotten I emailed the scammer back and told him that I was reporting him.

the name on the emails was MIKE THORPE I assume the scammer changes it frequently.
