Thanks for your reply and am sorry for responding this late.Actually I resided in the apartment with my family .The apartment is a one bedroom flat and am renting it out simply because I just relocated to Newport so I will need persons/people to rent so that it can be taken care of and I will be glad if you take care of the flat like yours. But still squeeze out time to come around if we both agree on a perfect date and time to meet.I want a clean trustworthy and loyal person for my flat and i am not asking for an upfront payment until you see and love the flat to your taste, but what i am requesting for is the assurance that you are going to pay me and show me an evidence that you have the funds to pay at hand when i come around, because i have heard on several times whereby some people say they are interested and after viewing and like the flat and love to occupy then they turn out to be time wasters , For now i need your suggestion,because i cant afford to waste my time.

This person asks for a deposit payment via Western Union, MoneyGram, pre-paid credit card or bank transfer with a promise that you can have the keys to a property that does not belong to him.

Sounds safe. It's not!

At other times, he will ask for proof that you are able to pay the deposit and rent due to a string of time wasters.
This proof is in the form of a Western Union or MoneyGram payment to a lawyer,a friend or family member.

In either case, if payment is made and you give this person the details, they will collect the money.
You will not hear from them again.

All the details such as names, addresses, pictures etc. that the scammer uses in order to back up his story, are stolen from elsewhere.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Craigslist, Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment before viewing, then it will also be a scam.
