An email from Eva Alexandra Kaser - the "Landlord in Geneva":

"Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes my apartment is still available and it is a well furnished 1 bedroom apartment and it's located at 47,Rue De La Terrassiere, Ch-1207 Geneva which is in the city and very close to transport so you can easily commute around the city. there is a very attractive living room, dining, kitchen with Internet (wi-fi). there is also washing machine, dryer and the rent is 750CHF all bills inclusive and deposit of 750CHF is required which will be refund to you after your stay in the apartment.

I attach the photos of the apartment for you to know what it looks like.

Hope to read from you again soon.

Eva."

Another email from Eva Alexandra Kaser:

"Now you'll find attached to this email the lease contract. you'll have to print it for her to sign it then have it scan back to me and below is the solicitor's bank account details for you to make the payment..

Bank Name: Deutsche Bank
Account Name: Marco Große Gehling
IBAN: DE95 4037 0024 0374 0842 00
Swift-BIC: DEUTDEDB403
Account Number: 374084200

Or you can make the payment directly to me via Money Gram if that seems much more easier for you because that will be much more faster and it is the only way i can receive the money here currently. so let me know if i should provide you my details to receive it via Money Gram instead.

So once you are done with the payment, you'll have to send me the transfer confirmation/receipt and once the payment is confirmed you'll have the rental payment receipt in return too which you'll have with the lease contract.

I hope you understand this? so i'll look forward to receive the signed contract and the transfer receipt soon so we can finalize this asap.

Eva."

Sounds very real, doesn't it? But it is not. This scammer sent even the copy of his/her passport to me which was a valid passport belonged to Eva Alexandra Kaser from Zurich Switzerland. After I transferred the amount to the above mentioned bank account Eva vanished. Beware of Rental Scams.

Thank you for posting this scam. Could you please post the email address that was used by this scammer?

Just to make it clear, the person behind this scam is not Eva. If you were given a real passport scan, then most likely Eva was a former victim who sent her passport scan to the scammers, thinking she was responding to a legitimate offer.

It's not uncommon for scammers to demand passport scans as "proof of identity" from victims. They will then reuse some of the names and passport scans in their future crimes.

Welcome to Scamwarners andrew13,
The rental scammers will post their fake rental listings on any site available and if the price seems to be to good to be true it probably is a fake listing.

Please post the emails that you received and we will be able to give you more information on you particular case.

Be sure to remove your person information before posting.

It is ALWAYS a scam
