Hello,

Thanks for the mail. Like i told you in my first mail that am currently not in UK which means the keys and documents of the flat are here with me but as soon as the payment of the first month rent deposit is been confirmed the keys and documents will be shipped out to you in package and also i want you to know that am a pastor and i can never tarnish my whole life and image just because of money all am just trying to do is to make sure that my flat is been given out to a responsible person. Am sorry there is nobody i can send the keys out to now because the only trusted person is out of the country for Madrid, i would have loved to ship out the keys to you but i wouldn't be able to do that because of my past bad experience of people claiming to be tenants coming into the flats and stealing my properties, i can only ship the keys to you if you'll be able to make the refundable deposit of 125pounds, as soon as this payment has been confirmed the keys will be shipped out to you so you can go and view the interior part of the flat and if it happens that you don't like what you see in the flat am assuring you that your money will be refunded back to you in less than 10 minutes so get back to me as soon as possible so as to proceed further.

Thanks.

The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".

Another variation of this scam is that you need to send (by Western Union) money in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you

He will ask you to send him the transfer details.

Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.
