I am glad to note you are serious to rent my home. And I am going to let you have it . All I want from you is to keep home neat.Treat home as yours. Move in Cost here is $2300. I and my family is in London, United Kingdom. I am here with my home entrance keys there. Realtor have failed me severally before now. Home was rented to bad tenants. And was grossly abused. I am renting this home to you with every faith that you will take good care of it as your personal property.

Right now, drive down the home to see it from outside. On receipt of my deposit fee here, I will proceed to ship to you my keys and documentation to enable you have a walk through. Deposited fee is 100%. Home is in a perfect shape now, very ready for immediate move in. Future maintainable will not be a problem for us here. Once there is need for repair, do let me know so that you will do it while the cost will be deducted from rent fee.

If you are alright with this arrangement, let me know and I will direct you on how to send down my deposit fee here. Once I receive my deposit fee from you,I will proceed to a registered courier Service office here to ship the keys and documentation to you there. The thief will tell you that you can rent his accommodation only if you can prove that you have genuine interest. He will ask you send money by wire transfer (normally Western Union) to yourself or a member of the family to show that you have sufficient finances and that you are not a "time waster".

Another variation of this scam is that you need to send (by Western Union) money in order that the keys and other documents can be couriered to you

He will ask you to send him the transfer details.

Make no mistake ! Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected. You will never get to see the accommodation or your money again.

If you are reading this because you are looking for property to rent, and you are in contact with this thief you are probably searching Gumtree or similar listing sites. If you receive any requests from 'Landlords' asking for some kind of payment by Western Union before viewing, then it will also be a scam. Please forward the mail to me at the address in my signature line and I will investigate and list them if necessary.

Hello Michelle

I spoke to this person on Saturday regarding their property at 7314 Frankfort Ct Greenbelt, MD. I have done some research and the name given to me is the rightfull owner.. I have also spoken to the neighbors and they say he is a nice person. However, I received the exact message that you have posted here on last week. I have done business with people in the UK before, but then I sent a transfer to the person's Bank of America account and when we got there it everything was fine. But in this case I am very liery of sending funds without seeing the units inside.

Have you spoken to him or sent him money?

Anyone else out there have a run in with this person?

Phone numbers commencing +44(0)70 are not UK numbers.

They are UK 'lookalike' or 'follow me anywhere' numbers that can divert to almost anywhere in the world at premium rates. (and you pay the entire cost).

If you have received an e-mail asking you to pay for keys and documents to been sent in advance of viewing - especially from someone using a '070' number -it will be a scam.

Please post an e-mail from your future 'Landlord', together with the full/expanded headers, and we will try and ascertain where it was actually mailed from

This is a 100% scam !!!

Western Union Payments should only be used to send money to people you personally know - family and known friends'

Western Union Transfers can be picked up virtually anywhere in the world and with the minimum of identification. They are almost impossible to trace once the money has been collected.
