Yes it is a scam, the English is indicative of an African writer, rather than an American.

Also, the salary is far too high for an au pair position.

The best thing to do is to totally cut off communication with the scammer.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

hello
I write these things that supposedly sent me the family CONTI (angelo continuous), whose mail is [email protected], and I'm not sure if this is a scam artist and would like to know, because I saw that the phone and zip code corresponding to zurich, but even so distrust of this offer.
I appreciate the help you can give me.

In easyaupair I have seen that you were looking for an aupair-job ; why not in Zürich?
I like your eclectic personality and beleive that having you in Zürich, life will never be boring. We share beside different interests and hobbies, also the common interest for foreign languages, travelling (I visited more than 50 countries), music, reading, sports (I love skiing; you can pracice different sports) and ART.
Come to improve and practice english and french (perfect english and french can be learnt also in Switzerland), and to learn Hochdeutsch (we dont speak dialect at home) , italian (my mother tongue), or portuguese in Zürich/Switzerland! We speak daily english, french, sometimes Hochdeutsch at home.

After you have learned languages, I can guarantee that one of those 3 choices should be the perfect challenge for you:
- you continue your studies in Zürich
- you will find - with my help - a job in a swiss hospital? in fashion business? as a hostess? in tourism? at the reception of a hotel? as flight attendant with SWISS/LUFTHANSA? in the medical branch? etc.

WHEN COULD YOU START? the sooner, the better

We are an easy-going family with lots of interests and hobbies corresponding to yours. I enjoy having a rest during week-ends; I spend them sometimes in our caravan in Interlaken (skiing in winter; walking, swimming and cycling during hot months); sometimes visiting exhibitions all around Europe. In fact I love travelling, discovering new places and new living habits. If the aupair wants to join in all these activities, she is welcome.
You will be treated like a family member and beside earning money you will learn/practice languages. You can go daily to english, french, italian or Hochdeutsch classes at Zürich university, which is very close to our home; all your language courses and future studying fees are paid by Angelo.

You have realised how important foreign languages are for a career. Staying with us you will have plenty of time to learn languages, because cooking/cleaning is a 2-3 hours job; the rest of the day you can study for yourself.
Duties of the aupair are to cook for lunch and dinner very simple but healthy food and to keep the newly-built 4-room-apartment in the center of Zurich clean.Your monthly salary will be between 800 and 1.000 Euros (depending on experience and capacity). There is the possibility to increase your salary by doing (hourly paid) baby-sitting 18:00-23:00 in families of friends who are also M.D.

I cant offer you a job as babysitter because my 2 sons are adults and live in another town and come to visit me one week-end a month. All together there are 3 hours work per day. It's a living-in job; you have your own room with private bathroom; in the room there is TV, radio-CD, PC, Wi-Fi, printer, etc.

After your arrival as a tourist we will apply for a student residence permit valid one year.

Because you love travelling you should know this: at the end of 2012 I will visit hospitals in Australia and California/USA (I have many friends in Westwod, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, Venice and Beverly Hills). ). In the summer 2012 I will spend 6 weeks holidays in Asia (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia). You can join both trips if you wish.

Although you are very mature you should - before taking a final decision - think about that you will live alone with a divorced medical doctor (with swiss passport but born in Italy) in the newly built 4-room-apartment in the center of Zürich and in the caravan in Interlaken.
If you are interested send CV and photos.
If you are not interested, give this mail to a friend interested to learn languages and to get later a well paid job.

Angelo Conti, Dr. med.

PS: We are not on Facebook or skype. I worked as a doctor 2 years in Melbourne/Australia and 2 years in LosAngeles hospitals.
by Chris Fuller Mon Mar 19, 2012 2:29 am
Although this doctor sends his introductory email to so many au pairs, and also suggests an illegal way of entering the country to work (pretending to be a tourist) and therefore is often suspected of being a scammer, there has been no indication so far that he asks au pairs to pay any kind of fake fee or to make any other form of money transfer.

This has been previously discussed here:

lijoha, you were correct to include all details of this person in order to ask whether it is a scam, but because there are no signs that he is stealing money from anyone, I've now removed his contact details from your post, to protect his privacy.

Is this a scam?

Dear Au Pair,

How are you doing? hope all is well with you over there. The reason why am
writing you this concise message is just to know whether you can be an Au pair/Nanny
for my kids. I'm Mrs. Merlin Scott , with two kids 3 and 5years respectively.
I have an Au pair at the moment but will soon be leaving, her contract is ending
in less than two weeks time. Do you have Passport if you do you don't need to be
worried about your travel document. In the house we have a Puppy Dog and two Rabbits,
I have some one taking care of the Pets in terms of washing, and cleaning together
with feeding. Your responsibilities is just to be with the kids and your presence
will be figured to my kids like that of a Mother to Children while am at work, well
this all you have to do. I would like to know if you will accept this offer so that
I can arrange how you going to get here so that you can start work. I Suggest to
look for an Au pair/Nanny who will be God fearing, hardworking and mostly honest
in service. We live in 216, Oxford Street London W1D 1BS, United Kingdom. I will want an Au pair
that is ready to come over here hopefully by next month and He/She will be treated
as part of my family and not just like an Au pair. Though i might be flexible on
the date, and your date of starting the work could be considered. You will be paid a sum
of 1,000 Pounds monthly and an extra 70 Pounds as your weekly pocket money and will be
subjected to increment base on your performance. More so, I will want you play
with the kids and teach them new things so as to widen their horizon. You will
have full access to everything in my house and will be taking care of by me.

Lastly I would want you to know that we can arrange a part time English
study for you which is very near to my house and we will make all necessary
payments that's if you want to study. Hope you are satisfied with my
arrangements for you. If so kindly write back to discuss further on how we will
arrange your travel plans for you so that you can join my family soonest. Please
do get back to me and If you have any question, do not hesitate to ask me, I
will be looking forward to hearing from you soonest.

Hello Arturo and welcome to ScamWarners.

The English used in both of those emails are indicative of an African, rather than a native English speaker. There are other additional red flags, which I don't want to go into as I don't want to educate any scammers who happen to visit.

So I would say they are both scams.

Would you please post the email addresses that these mails came from, as that will help others avoid being scammed.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

hello all!
I too have been contacted by this same family.
Unfortunately, although I suspect a minimum due to pay very high and the few hours I have maintained contact with this family!
Apparently they seemed serious, I have also given the same contacts that have given to Arturo euronorfolkhotel.com / (info.norfolkhotel1 @ london.com)
The worst thing, and I sent them my CV and thank goodness I stopped at that!
Now I fear that they may use my personal information for illegal use!
I have confirmed this morning that I want to hire me and that today they would talk to their lawyers for the recruitment and asked me if I'd paid for my trip.
Unfortunately I'm just taken by the afternoon I definitely wanted to investigate and find myself in front of this sad truth!
It 'a scam right?
What should I do now?
I was really stupid!
waiting for your news I thank you in advance for the help!

Hello ELENA29!

Yes it is certainly a scam. Although its not ideal that you sent personnel information to the scammer its unlikely they will use it. The scammer just ask for you CV to apear legit as a real employer would. He is really just after the money he Just stop all communication with the scammer and he will eventualy give up and go away.

As a side note @london.com is a free email address from mail.con no legitimate business is going to use a free email account.

And did I see the phone number 447011147211 mentioned? The number has been used in previous scam attempts.
by ELENA29 Wed Apr 11, 2012 11:58 am
thank you Justin for your early reply!!
:P As soon as you make them live, I will break off all contact.
Luckily I suspect the first to take a turn for the worse.
However, do you think that even if I did not send money, I am out of danger?
From the same website I have had similar jobs opportunities, seemingly serious, but checking SCAMWARNERS I discovered that many families are just big scams fake!
for example: Matthew Palmer, Mary Morgan, merlin scott, katie whitehouse! (All families who contact me on my personal email).

These have found my contact from the same web site, unfortunately when I went to visit their profile does not exist anymore!

Do I think that all website is not serious?

Thank SCAMWARNERS that saved me time from 'yet another scam! :D
