i recieved the same email from "Joe Martin" and i was surprised when i started recieving a lot of emails regarding nanny jobs in the UK.
I have recently recieved this email:
> Dear Au Pair,
>
> We are a Family of four residing here in London(UK), We are British citizens as well.I work as an overseer in a Real estate firm also here in the UK. We currently have two kids aged 5 & 7 years old. We are looking for an Au Pair or Nanny from Any Country that is willing to stay with us for a as long as he or she can.. We also seek an Au pair for basic child care and some light housework
>
> About Our Family
>
> We are a professional couple, living here in the UK .Our kids are fairly easy going and relaxed, they would enjoy someone with lots of energy and enthusiasm. Having English as a first language is not required and in fact, we would entertain the nanny speaking to them in her own mother-tongue. Also my wife is a teacher at the local high school here in London where she teaches Health education to a range of children, she is also involved as a fund-raiser with a couple of N.G.O's with charitable cause. In her spare time she enjoys painting and shopping.
>
> If however you accept to take a position with us, you would be Paid £1,500.00 (One Thousand Five Hundred Pounds Sterling) as monthly Salary and a daily pocket money of £100. So kindly send us your resume & also an update picture of yourself. Should the outcome be positive, we would send you a Contract Letter. We shall discuss travel arrangements in due course of which I would be of generous assistance to you.
>
> We sincerely looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Katie,
Welcome to Scamwarners
I haven't looked into it yet but I am quite confident it is, there are a few indicators in there although the emails are well written a few common African mistakes are present, a big indicator is the amount of money they propose to pay, I dont live in the UK but the wages stated look very high, 1,500 pounds per month plus another 100 per day spending money, thats about 4,500 pounds per month which seems an awful lot of money considering his wife is a teacher, i doubt it would be worth her while going to work at a school.
I will have a look for some evidence shortly but for now, just ignore any of the emails.
In the meantime could you please post up the email address or any other details you have which will help us to find evidence as well as warn others of this scam
BTW,
I should point out that scammers often use real information as part of their scams to add legitimacy, the real address is just an address the scammer has added to his scam to look more convincing
Back again, here you go, here are other scam emails with the same line about the kids being relaxed Click Here
I hope this removes any doubts you may have had about it.
Definately a scam and there is proof

3459 Woodpecker Close
Cob ham, Surrey
KT112NT
United-Kingdom.
While Woodpecker Close is correct, it looks very short on the map, and looks to contain no more than 10 houses to me. There can't be many if any UK roads with over 3000 houses.
Note that he's still addressing you as "Au Pair", not by your name.
"Boulder World Travel" does not exist, no website, and two Google hits for au-pair scams.
live.com is a free webmail address, rarely used by legitimate businesses.
it's a scam.

Hello Dear,

I am a Banker by profession and my Wife is a Medical Doctor, we live together with our two lovely boys, Terry is 3yrs and Alex is 5yrs, and as you know it there are a lot of achievement in United kingdom and you will be treated as part of the family from the minute you arrive, we also have a laundry man in our house hold living in our pool house, at the back. My children are fun loving, playful and a little hectic at times, they like playing video games, football. My children are very intelligent but plays a lot that's why i need them to be a bit more busy studying some foreign language, (French, Dutch, either), for at least 2hrs a day 3times a week after their afternoon Nap, To go to the swimming pool, park, etc. And to play with them.I will be paying you 2000 Pounds per month and you will also get 400 Pounds as pocket money every week. You will work around 4 or 5 hours per day, no more. From Monday to Saturday. Our family is a little hectic at times but fun loving, and energetic as well, The Au pair would be required to bath the kids in the mornings only, and also take them to school and bringing them back, Monday to Friday (Au pair/nanny that could drive is okay, we have available a car that can be used) although the school is about 600meters from our home, its a walking distance for me, , The Au pair will have access to the internet and a television and video in his/her room. You will have his/her own double room with suite shower facilities. I would expect the Au pair to work for 25-30hrs per week Mon-Fri with weekends off you can start doing some other things here in UK as you will have your working permit as soon as I'm okay with you u will have to do some housework.
Till i hear from you.

Hi Marnia and welcome to Scamwarners.
That is definitely a scam. The wording looked familiar and I found it here. viewtopic.php?f=34&t=2759&p=10548&hilit=avon#p10548. Identical wording, but the scammer was using a different name.

Driving a child to school 600 meteres from the home.
Maybe they have an eatraordinarily long driveway to their home.
Most schools have no parking zones around them in the UK for safety reasons, and you'd probably have to drive a mile to find anywhere to drop the kids off.
You'd be getting a salary in excess of £150,000 per annum and would be earning at least as much as the Prime Minister.
Scammers are usually very generous, because they never intend to pay a penny.

Non-EU citizens should go here to find out about obtaining a visa to work as an au pair in the UK
