Our older daughter attends a primary school while the younger girl is enrolled in a pre-school. They both attend the same school. The school resumes by 10.00am and closes by 3pm Mondays to Fridays. But during this summer, they will be on break and as a result will be at home for most hours of the day. We need you to help look after them while they will be on holidays. Also if both parties are satisfied with working with each other, the contract could be extended.Your duties involves getting them up and dressed for summer school which will be starting sometime in August, dropping them off in the morning, and also picking them up after summer classes. Your working hours is 6 hours daily weekdays while you are Saturdays and Sundays as your free days. Your monthly salary is 2000 pounds and your weekly pocket money is 250 pounds. Your duties involves taking care of them while at home and also dinner preparation, homework and getting them ready for bed at the end the day! We eat healthy, lead active, fun lives and need someone who has a positive outlook on life. We need help with organizing and keeping the children's clothes, room and equipment in order. Must have a passion for children and earnestly want them to be your first priority. Homework and school projects are important and must be able to assist in this area also.Their summer school is within walking distance and on the same street as our house. Light housekeeping, laundry and grocery shopping during the day is also required.Other facilities within walking distance include a couple of playgrounds and a recreation center with indoor/outdoor swimming pools, tennis and basketball courts, and a gymnasium. There is a college nearby that offers all kind of classes, ranging from Language courses to Sports, and everything in between. There are other school and facilities located nearby also.

So I've searched your website and realized that this is a scam. I haven't sent them any information regarding my passport, social security number, bank account, etc. But I have been contacting them and they do know my home address, phone number, and other personal information. What do I do now?

Welcome here Desfleurs.

I was about to write that this is definatly a scam, but you figured that out already. Well, basicly you have nothing to worry about. Just cease all contact with the scammer and they will leave you alone after a while.

Being a victim doesn't mean you stand alone. We're here to help you.

Thank you very much. I have not contacted this person anymore. HOWEVER, I just saw the movie "Taken" and I am a little nervous about these people in Nigeria or Cameroon, or where ever they are, having my information. I am not currently living in the US and the website I applied through gave these people my address and location in Paris (where I am living now in an apartment alone). Should I be worried, living in Europe, that people in a scam ring in Africa know where I live and information such as age, height, interests, and past job history?

And even if they are unaffiliated with anything like human trafficking, do they sell information like addresses to people that do (I know some people sell social security numbers and other info)?

Basically, I'm wondering if I put myself at risk for anything, and, if so, how much and if there's anything I should do.

Thank you for your time!

No need to worry. Much of the information you have given them is public information anyway, and you can get even more information than you gave from millions of people's facebook pages.

This particular kind of scammer is interested in making a few quick dollars with no work. The vast majority of these scammers are not risk-takers--they are hiding behind a computer and a false identity because the risk of being caught or charged is very low. They will not put themselves at serious risk of prosecution for a few dollars.

The most he will do is send you future scams, and possibly share your information with other scammers who will also send you more scam offers, maybe even by phone or snail mail. Occasionally scammers will send threats by email and attempt to extort money, but again, the threats are idle--they are not going to do anything. As long as you stay informed about scams, you have nothing to worry about.
