hi) au pair scam

Yes, the email posted above is from a scammer.

I just did a search on a section of that email and found an exact copy of it on a scam report.

To show you how I did it, I did an exact search on this line

"We are very active British family living in Maryland U.S.A but relocating to London"

You can try it yourself by opening google and copy pasting what is in the quotes into a google search including the quotation marks, they are what makes google do the exact search

In time, the results will change and there will be more and more hits as it gets posted in other places, for now you only have one hit but very soon this thread will also come up.

Please note if you do a search like I have done with getting results it is not proof that it is legitimate.

I have also received this email. I did not trust her much but I emailed her anyway. Her answers are really weird and she insists a lot on me giving my passport number to an agency called "FJ TRAVELING TOUR" (a remarkable fact: she always writes "travelling" with just one "l") in order to get me a visa as soon as possible. This cannot be real: she pays a lot, she does not even know me and wants me to go there whenever I want.

This is a quote form her latest email:

Once again i will be paying you $1,950 ,i hope it
will be ok per calendar 3 weeks as your salary and you will be
working for 15-20 hours per week.There will be free accommodation for
you, free car, free internet access to reach to your family and free
cell phone for you and $175 as pocket money every Friday.and I will
appreciate it if you can take good care of my Daughter

I have three emails from her, if you want them to stop this fraud please let me know. I can't believe people do this sort of things...

If you could post these, along with the headers (make sure to remove your own adress in them, if you don't know how to extract headers tell us which provider you are using and we'll explain) that would help us build evidence and make them googleable

By header you mean the part which is at the top (to, from...)?

No, those aren't the headers I was looking for but in the stuff you posted I already found all the information I needed; as they are mailing from a gmail adress there isn't much additional information we can extract from the headers, as gmail removes certain data. I was also looking out for a possible fake site of the travel agency, but apparently they are using a free hotmail account so there isn't much for me to take offline there
