Hello Au pair,

How are you doing? I went through your profile at http://www.newaupair.com and was highly interested in your service to be my beloved kids Au Pair. I am Mr Shawn Devis. I am widower and work with a Marine company here in London, UK. My daughter Rose is (4) and my son David is (2) years old. I just enroll them at kindergarten school.

Due to my varying and lengthy working hours, I am looking for someone who is caring, flexible and appreciates family values and will be willing to be a special friend to my beloved kids, someone i can trust to treat as a family/friend and not just as an Au pair.

I am easy to get along with and will really want to make you feel comfortable and at home. Your one and only duty will be basically to take good care of Rose and David. I already have a housekeeper who cleans the house. You will be provided with a well furnished room with its own bathroom, a desk phone and computer system with full internet access. You are also allowed a car for your easy accessibility and also in the case of emergency. I can only afford to pay you 550GBP (Five hundred and Fifty pounds) weekly and 100GBP allowance to see to Rose and David's after needs and i hope you can accept that. I will also pay for your documents and travel expenses.

Kindly get back to me with your updated Resume/CV and few pictures of yours if interested, so we will get to know each other more better and also tell you more about your job.

Cheers!
Mr Devis

The profile was removed from the site.

This is a very good sign that it was a scam.

Please read here about Au Pair scams. viewtopic.php?f=42&t=3019

United Kingdom

Individuals wanting to be au pairs in the UK who are nationals of countries outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland have to apply for the Tier 5 (Youth mobility scheme). The Tier 5 scheme is very limited and only nationals of certain countries are eligible, as detailed here https://www.gov.uk/tier-5-youth-mobility . If you are not a national of one of the countries listed then you are not eligible to be an au pair in the UK - there are no exceptions to this rule.

Individuals who are nationals of an EEA country (except Croatians at the time of writing - check the Home Office website for the current limitations) or Switzerland are entitled to freedom of movement throughout the EEA area and do not require visas to work in the UK and do not require proof of funds
