Scams offering fake Au Pair positions
by Chris Fuller Sun Aug 08, 2010 4:28 pm
This is not a genuine au pair opportunity; it is a scam.

The +4470 telephone number is not a normal UK number, but a 'redirect' number which redirects all calls to the scammer's own mobile phone, almost anywhere in the world.

If you are looking for an au pair job in the UK, please contact the British Embassy in your own country to check UK entry requirements. You can find the genuine British Embassy website by Google searching 'British Embassy' and the name of your country. Note that a genuine British Embassy email address will always end with @fco.gov.uk (and with no words or abbrieviations after that).

Do not send money to any agency, embassy, lawyer, or other person introduced to you by a potential employer. If you wish to consult the UK Border Agency, do not use an email address or website address given to you by your potential employer, but go to the genuine website here:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/

If you require any help with travel arrangements, please contact a travel agency in your own town, which you can visit in person.

Hello,
I saw your profile on easyaupair.com
We are working parents who need assistance with raising our small children. We offer live in accomodations. We live in London and visit NYC often. Active family who travel extensively and entertain guests often. Light housework - if any - as we have a cleaning service weekly. We are most comfortable .
We have two kids, 5 yrs and 3 yrs old. They love the arts, singing, dancing and drawing. We try to encourage their creative ideas, visiting museums, galleries, shows, etc. They are also very active, and we have a large backyard with a playset for their exercise.
If however you accept to take a position with us, you would be Paid ?1,500.00 (One Thousand Five hundred Pounds sterling) as monthly Salary.
Do well to send us your resume & also an update picture of yourself, and we would get in touch with them. Should the outcome be positive, we would send you a Contract Letter. We shall discuss travel arrangements in due course of which I would be of generous assistance to you.
We are a very friendly family and will welcome you as part of the family from the moment you arrive. We have had many nannies and au pairs, so we know the type of person that we are looking for. We know that it is a big step coming to the UK and living with a new family, but we will do what we can to make it as easy for you as possible.
Best Regards
Eric for the family

I just prayed for it to be true.
What got me thinking was the amount of money. I told him that usually au pairs are paid max. 400 pounds, but he said he loves his children too much. He had me contact his attorney who told me I have to pay 305 pounds as consultation fee. He sent me the contract invitation letter, that sounds like this:

The scammer who calls himself Eric Lloyd is now also calling himself Walter Fields. Walter Fields sends identical emails and photographs to those which Eric Lloyd sends, but signed with a different name. The email address which the scammer is using for Walter Fields is:

[email protected]

For Eric Lloyd he uses:

[email protected]

Walter Fields directs correspondents to Barrister Craig Williams at:

Eric Lloyd may also use that email address for his fake barrister, as well as [email protected]
