Hi delphineb
I'm not saying it is, but it does sound suspicious!

Reverse DNS: [No reverse DNS entry per ns1.nynex.de.]
Reverse DNS authenticity: [Unknown]

What do the other IP numbers from the email header tell you?

Try typing the email address or name into the search box and see what turns up from that.
If the person claims to be from the UK (as the email suggests), why does the IP number point to Germany?
I hope I'm wrong, but tread carefully fellow member.

Hello, dephineb & welcome here. :)

It is 100% SCAM! The atrocious English alone is sufficient to indicate he is NOT an educated English speaking person ( a Dr/Rev - whatever!), not to mention the ludicrous amount of 'pay'!

The I/P address you posted: 217.26.248.50 Satellite Provider (Nynex Network Solutions)

Please ignore this email as it is not a genuine offer.

It's a West African scammer idea to make a professional person a reverend as well. In their eyes it makes it more believable, and they think that you're bound to trust someone who is also a reverend. In reality, because London is a cosmopolitan city with many faiths, it's more likely to be discouraged.

A gynaecologist would be able to spell his profession too.

A very obvious scam.

Non-EU citizens should go here to find out about obtaining a visa to work as an au pair in the UK

Whenever payment is requested by Western Union you're dealing with a scammer
