"Hello ***,

We are Kewel's Family, am interested in having you as an Au Pair for my kids. I'm a Nurse here in the United Kingdom while my husband work in a Construction Company. I am down to earth, blunt and take things the way they come. I am a very friendly person and easy to get along with. You will have no problem in adapting to our lifestyle here. We will be needing your services due to the time commitment that is demanding by our jobs. We want you to know that you'll never have any cause to regret taking up this job.

Jenna is 2years, we just enrolled her at a kindergarten school. She is welcoming and though young, she has a warm and friendly attitude. She likes playing a lot and i do not think you will have any problem with her so far she eats and plays well. Gibson is 4years old, He's in his first year in elementary school. He likes candy, chocolate and equally likes watching cartoon movies. He also likes playing a father role cos he's always with his dad in the Sitting room. He pays rapt attention to all that is father do and tries to mimic those acts he sees him perform in the house and other activities. He is very intelligent and loves to take after people, this is the more reason i will appreciate someone with good qualities to be our Au pair so that he doesn't take to bad influence. Their father, like me plays a very active role in their life. Funny enough, Gibson is mostly with his dad except during meals while Jenna is mostly with me in the kitchen.

Your job is not a hard one,I do not believe in supervising or monitoring people to do their job. I believe people should be giving a free role in whatever they do. So, I believe you should be able to perform well without being told. All entails preparing the kids for school in the morning, taking Gibson and Jenna to the point where the school bus pick them up to school. You will have a free period then whereby you can do any vocation or practice whatever is at your disposal. Then you help monitor them after they are brought home by the school bus, just to make sure they are alright till my arrival from work.

You will be entitled to a pay of lb1,500 every month while you will also be given an entitlement of lb200 Pounds every week for petty expenses which you might need for yourself. This salary is subject to negotiations for an upward review upon your arrival. A well furnished Master bed room will be made available for your personal use as soon as you get here. There will be your personal Laptop connected to the internet, TV and other necessary gadgets at your disposal. There will be enough privacy for you, i guess you'll really like it.

You are free to start as soon as possible, I will appreciate you coming immediately but any date of your choice will also be welcome. You have every weekend(Saturday & Sunday) as your off day as i will not be going to work during weekends except special overtime. You will be free to study in English Course in any school of your choice as soon as you get here(if you wish).I will be helping you as regards tuition fees. There are so many colleges here in UK that offer good and qualitative courses. Let me know if you are ready to take up this position and how soon you can make it here. Do you have a valid visa and other necessary document to travel down here?

Regards
Mrs. Serena Kewel

I am a victim of Serena Kewel AuPair and I have transferred a significant amount to the account provided for a supposed employment in UK as nanny. I just discovered your post and I am awfully frustrated. please could you help me with advice on how to recover my money.

Hello yustas, I'm so sorry to hear that you have lost money to this scammer. Sadly, it is very unlikely that you will be able to recover the money.

The scammer, who has been using a false name, probably lives in Nigeria or Malaysia, and sent the emails from a computer in an internet café. In this way, he has done his best to protect himself from being traced.

If you sent the money by a money transfer service like Western Union or MoneyGram, the scammer will probably have been able to collect that money in his own country, using just the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) or reference number - even if you sent it to a different country and to a different name.

If you sent the money by direct bank transfer, it was probably sent to the bank account of an accomplice of his, or to a scam victim of his who believes that they have been employed as a 'payment clerk' or similar. Either the accomplice or the scam victim will probably have then sent the money on to the scammer by Western Union, possibly to a fake name.

So, as you can tell, in all this, the scammer has remained a very hidden person, with his real details probably unknown.

Sometimes, after stealing your money, a scammer will then send you an email promising to get your money back for you; or offering you compensation for your loss. This is another scam, aiming to trick you into sending more money. Please delete any email promising to recover your money, or to compensate you for the theft of your money.

Please also watch out for more fake au pair offers. Before responding to any au pair offer, please firstly check with the Embassy of the host family's country whether it is possible for you to be an au pair in that country. Please use Google to find the genuine Embassy website and contact details; do not rely upon any contact details that a host family gives you - they may be fake.

I'm sorry that you have had this awful experience. If you receive any further au pair offers or other emails that you are suspicious about, we are willing to help you find out whether or not they are scams.

Some scammers don't "work" weekends. If you paid by Western Union or Moneygram yesterday, it's jut possible that you may be able to retrieve the money before the scammer collects it. I'm not optimistic though.
