"If the host family/travel agent claim to be in the UK and use a telephone number that starts +44 70 - these are re-direct phone numbers that can be forwarded anywhere in the world and are not normally used by individuals in the UK.".....the employer who wants to hire me as a nanny of his children gave me the number which starts +4470.but he never mentioned a travel agent nor asking money from me . he even assure me that he will pay my plane ticket to UK. but still i'm a little bit worried and confused if this is a scam or not.please help me what to do.

Welcome to Scamwarners.
Can you quote the whole email, but without your email address etc (and remove your name from your post) please. Although I have absolutely no doubt that it's a scam.
Mobile phones mean that there is no longer any need for anyone to need a redirect number. They simply aren't as useful.

Welcome to Scamwarners!

As Arnold already said, please post the emails from the scammer, but take out your own name. This will also help to alert others to avoid being scammed.

I have seen several nanny scams in which the scammer tells the victim he/she will pay for the plane ticket--that is not unusual. Often the scammer tells the victim that he will pay for part of the visa fees, too, but in the end the victim has to pay part of the fees.

As Arnold said, the 44-70 number tells us for sure that it is a scam, but in this case I don't even need it. It's even more simple than that since you have said you are from Philippines and the "employer" is in UK.

Residents of the Philippines cannot get a UK au pair visa.

UK only allows au pairs from certain countries. Philippines is not one of them. ANY nanny offer you get from UK is a scam.

"Glad to read from you, Do you have a simple name I could call you? I am really happy to hear that you would like to work for my family since I have been the one taking care of my 2 kids, James and Smith. James is 7 while smith would be 5this October, i bath them everyday, take them to school do all the laundry for 8 months now, and is has been Kind of Hectic for me at all time cos I am always very tired since I Lost my Woman. It’s a Lady’s Duty to take care of kids you know that.

Well I work for the Giuen Holding Ltd. BC in Sweden , and I have just been Posted there for a while and that is why I really need someone here as soon as Possible, a friend of mine got her Philippine nanny and she is very Hardworking, God fearing and honest also close to the family. Her name is Sally.... So i need someone that is honest and dedicated to her job.

Do you have an International Passport?

Have you ever been to Europe?

What is your duty in your current place of work?

Go through my Note and I Hope I hear back from you.

Send me your resume so I can review and access it.

Do have a Lovely day"

" Good to read from you tonight, it is already late here, I went to church this evening for bible studies with my kids… I am glad that you are interested in working with my family, I love my kids so much cos they are all I have left, the death of their mum affected them a lot and that is the reason that I have been on leave for 8months now without salary, I need someone who is good in taking care of kids, honest, God fearing, devoted Christian and can do all the house chores because I am a born again Christian and teach my kids the way of the lord always.

Your duty will be to take care of the kids, cook, do the domestic works, you will bath the kids every morning and drive them to school and also pick them up every Mondays to Fridays while weekends you will always take them out, I want them to always be happy cos I already informed them that I want to employ someone that will be taking care of them and they seem to be very excited about the idea since they understand that I need to resume my work to enable us earn a living.

Things will be lot easier since you already have an International Passport, I need you to be here as soon as possible, you will have to apply for a UK working visa and have it processed in your country while I will be the one to pay for your flight ticket and I will file up a contract agreement with the British immigration so we can both sign and employer and employee but that would be after you must have started the processing of your visa.

I am willing to pay you 1,850pound monthly and weekly allowances of 250pounds, with a well furnished room in my house with full internet and mobile access, you would like UK very much when you get here cos you will have a good life and will be able to take care of your family and they will always be proud of you. Regarding your UK working visa application, I have been on leave for 8months now without salary ever since I lost my wife which I explained to you earlier, I am about to resume work that is why I need someone that will come and work for my family.

Let me know what you decide in your next email and if you are very much OK with my offer and salary package. Your resume is quite impressive and I can see you are qualified for this job. God Bless always."

this is the first & second email of the employer.
I'm so upset right now.are you really 100% i can't get a visa?I am a registered nurse by the way but i applied as a nanny.

I am sending you a private message explaining why, but unfortunately, yes, it is true that a resident of the Philippines cannot get a visa for a nanny or au pair job in UK unless they are already working for the family.

Yes, anybody from Philippines cant get a UK aupair visa. I've been to UK but I was physically present in the immigration for the visa application. It was just possible because I was with my employer. No where in the earth that the agency will apply for your UK aupair visa....Purely scams....
