Scams offering fake Au Pair positions
by Chris Fuller Sun Mar 27, 2011 5:47 am
This is not a genuine au pair opportunity; it is a scam. The Au Pair Foundation (APF) agency used in this scam is also fake.

There is a genuine Au Pair Foundation agency, which is one of the US government designated sponsors for arranging au pair positions in the USA. These scam mails, however, do NOT come from the real Au Pair Foundation. The genuine Au Pair Foundation's email addresses end with @aupairfoundation.org - the Au Pair Foundation does not use webmail addresses ending with @bellair.net or @usa.com like this scammer is using.

Also, you can see the real steps to becoming an au pair through the genuine Au Pair Foundation agency here:

I will appreciate if you can forward your reply to my account: ([email protected]) Thanks and I will be looking forward to considerable response

Hello,

How are you? hope you are doing fine. I am very happy that you
are interested and willing to work for us. Thanks for the brief response
and I must assure you that everything is going to work out just fine here.
It might interest you to know little about the family and the job
expectations.

ABOUT US
I'm working with the USA NAVY here, live in San Diego, California,
USA. while my husband works as a consultant en. I am down to earth,
blunt and take things the way they come. I am a very friendly person
and easy to get along with. You will have no problem in adapting to our
lifestyle here. We will be needing your services due to the time
commitment that is demanding by our job. We want you to know that
you'll never have any cause to regret taking up this job.

THE KIDS
Joey is Three years, we just enrolled her at a kindergarten school for
this period..She is welcoming and though she is young, she has a warm
and friendly attitude. she like s playing a lot and i do not think you
will not have any problem with her so far he eats and plays well.
Sarah is five years old, she's in her first year in elementary school.
She likes candy, chocolate and she likes watching cartoon movies. She
also likes playing a mother role cos she's always with me in the
kitchen. She pays rapt attention to all i do and tries to mimic those
acts she sees me perform in the kitchen, laundry and other activities.
She is very intelligent and loves to take after people, this is the
more reason i will appreciate someone with good qualities to be her Au
pair so that she doesn't take to bad influence. Their father, like me
plays a very active role in their life. Funny enough, Joey is mostly
with her dad except during meals while Sarah is mostly with me in the
kitchen.

CITY
We live in a big city with attractive views, natural environments and
nice structures. "Surely San Diego, California, is also like the
Paradise of the world just like New York...the of this place and other
state are very simple in their manners, Everybody is neither Poverty
nor Riches, each house is quite okay, and every man has a trade and
other good job opportunities and students are also responsible in
their respective schools, Most importantly there is no distinction of
Persons. " Somethings are expensive like housing and car sales but
most of other things are affordable like food, clothes and many more.
But I really cant say much except you come here and see for yourself,
Okay.

SCHEDULE
Your job is not a hard one, I do not believe in supervising or
monitoring people to do their job.I believe people should be giving a
free role in whatever they do. So, I believe you should be able to
perform well without being told. All entails preparing the kids for
school in the morning, taking Sarah and Joe to the point where the
school bus picks them up to school. You will have a free period then
whereby you can do any vocation or practice or time for studying if
you are type or whatever is at your disposal. Then you help monitor
them after they are brought home by the school bus, just to make sure
they are alright till my arrival from work.

Morning: help children get dressed, feeding, prepare for morning
activities<school, play class etc>

Afternoon: participate in other activities, library, swimming lessons,
read books, play games, listen to music

Evening: help prepare dinner, give them baths, help them put on
pajamas, Help them with any projects and school activities.

SALARY
You will have $5.8 for 8.50 hours per day for 23 days(23 days out 31
days of the month) makes or equals $1,200 plus $70 every week for your
petty expenses, your off days are the weekends Saturday and Sunday
makes up the remain 8 days to make up the 31 days of the month so you
won't be paid during those days but In case you have to work during
your off days your per pay will be at $6.00 per hour and it will be
added to your end of the month salary. This salary is subject to
negotiations for an upward review upon your arrival..

You will be provided with a well furnished bed room in the house as
soon as you get here. We will also endeavor to get you a personal
laptop connected to the internet, TV and other necessary gadgets at
your disposal. There is no problem with you having a cell phone but
you are also left with the option of using the home line to reach
whoever you want to contact. There will be enough privacy for you,i
guess you'll really like it.

STUDY
You will be free to study in any school of your choice soon as you get
here. I will be helping you as regards tuition fees. There are so many
colleges and Universities here that offer good and qualitative courses
here.

OFF DAYS
You have every weekend as your off day as I will not be going to work
during weekends except special overtime

Concerning the when to start and your length of your stay?- I am sure
that you will quite agree with me that it will be a great idea if we
can start the processing of your Visa, Work permit, Insurance and
other traveling documents any moment from now so that you can have
them ready as to avoid any delay on your part, you will be applying
for it through the agency here in the States, they helped us with our
last Au pairs and the experience has been wonderful. Their processing
is usually about 2-3 weeks with a safe and reliable service. So in
that case we have no choice than to wait and get all the visa and
required documents so get back to me so that we can have that
arranged.

Feel free to ask any question, we will not hesitate to answer you but
I will still appreciate if you can tell us more about you, your city
and your family?.

How long do you intend staying with us? This is actually open to both
of us as you will have your own schedule but as for us you are free to
stay with us for as long as you want 3, 6, 9, 12 months more of these
or less. So let us know your decision, okay.

I will be sending some of our family pictures later.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Yours sincerely,
With Love.

From: [email protected]

Hello,

How are you? hope you are fine. It is so good to hear from you
again and I am sure that carefully understand our mail and thanks for
the compliments, detailed and interesting message we are okay with all
you have said and now there will be a change because we are ready to
take you as part of our family. I am sure that you will have a lovely
experience with
our the children and family at large. As regards the visa and
traveling with us and your cooperation it is not going to be difficult
and I am of strong conviction to assure you of your safety. Of course
6 months or more is okay with us as that will be a great time for us to
get along well. I must say you should feel free and take us like your
parents and I am sure that will be a long time for us to get along
well and have a peaceful stay. As I have said earlier that we will be
directing you with an agency here in the state for the processing of
your visa and traveling so in that case they will be providing and
guiding you with all the information needed such that you have smooth
presentation and clearance at the US embassy in your country as soon
as they are through with your visa and traveling packages, okay.
Please I will like you to follow instructions so that there are no
mistakes as much as possible.

I hope you know that getting to USA and securing a valid visa,
flight ticket and other traveling document may be quite expensive but
I want to assure you that we are always ready to give you a helping
hand because am really convinced you will be a good Au Pair in my home
and I want to see to that fact that you make it here without any
delay. So concerning the Visa, flight and other traveling documents we
will have to get them through an agency because of our past
experience: so it will only be perfect to apply through them,
they helped us with our last Au pair and it was very great and also
very secured patronizing them. We want to make sure that you have a
valid visa so that when you get to the US Embassy there wont be any
hitch whatsoever. We had our first Au pair In the year 2008 from
Croatia that processed an invalid visa and was later caught some few
weeks after staying with us which cost us so many Court cases, please
in that case i hope you are okay with this security measure.
Concerning your Visa processing and all traveling expenses, I believe
you know that our family must also pay some amount of money too, that
means; you will also be paying your own part of the total traveling
expenses which is affordable, but right now I cannot give you the
current cost breakdown and processing details except you make contact.
I want us to make progress without any delay so that you can join us
as soon as possible because I am sure that the Processing usually
takes around 2-3 weeks and so by then you will have received all your
traveling packages and also fully ready to join us when due. So
concerning the Visa, flight and other traveling documents you will
have to contact
Mr. Benson Foster (The International Relation Officer) of the Agency
on these email addresses: 1. [email protected] 2.
[email protected] for all details of the processing of
your Visa, Work Permit, Insurance and other traveling documents
including the Total Cost, please tell him "Your name, address,
country, personal cell phone no and that you have found your American
Host family (Brown family, living in San Diego, California, USA.) and
also tell him you intend to staying with us for 6 months"

Please I want you to note that sometimes you can receive the agency's
response in your Spam Message as well as mine as it maybe relayed
there due to internet error and if you are not aware it from now it
will take a long time for you to know while awaiting their or our
reply. So in order for us to move ahead at the right time and avoid
any form of delay please do take note of that, okay.

Kindly get back to me with whatever they tell you so that we can
discuss better. I will be expecting your reply soonest and pictures

Make sure you contact them as soon as possible, okay.

Yours sincerely,
With Love

Hi I was recently contacted by this lady on GREAT AU PAIR, this was her follow up email. Hopefully someone can let me know if its believable. Also I live in Europe, this women seems to think I am American or is this "Template" ?! Any advice is welcomed. Thank you C

Thank you for your e-mail. I, Rosemarie, am the grandmother of the boys L....... (13) and R........ (12) and I am helping their mother Valeria to establish the contact with an aupair in our family. Leonard lived one year in Canada and he likes to speak English, play music and chess. Richard likes sports very much: tennis, climbing, swimming, fence, table tennis, trampoline and so on, his music instrument in violin-cello. Leonard is in a boarding school and comes back every second week. Your working time would be 30 hours within 6 days weekly. One day in the week is free and one weekend a month is free. The daily schedule is: Monday-Friday taking breakfast with Richard from 7:00-7:30a.m and bringing to the bus station. From 4:30-8:30pm , playing, controlling the English homework and taking dinner with him. The rest of the day is free. Saturday five hours and Sunday 2-4 hours. That depends if we make excursions, go to the cinema or theatre or a museum, travelling, visit castels and historical places etc. During the time you are with the boys the language is English. I myself will give you German lessons and I assure you when you return to the States one year later you will speak German fluently. It is not necessary that you do housework, because we have housekeeping staff, exception: the boys have to learn to tidy up their room with your help.
If you like to speak with us: Our phone numbers: ..................... European time: 9:00 - 12:00 a.m. and 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. ............ European time: 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Mobile:............ whenever you want to call e-mail: [email protected]. Skype: names 1234567 (it's good to make an appointment by e-mail)
Please let me know your e-mail address to send you all the information about the procedure to get the permit of residence. It is easy to come to Germany with the status of aupair. We are looking forward to hearing from you soon. Skyping would be great! Best regards ................
by David Jansen Thu Apr 28, 2011 2:56 am
Welcome here cvas.

This is just a standard template that the scammer pastes into the emails he is sending. The first clue is when at first it is said "thanks for your email" while later it says "send me your email address" . And of course with this "permit of residence" the scam will start, as that will be the way that the scammer tries to steal your money. This is a scam!

Being a victim doesn't mean you stand alone. We're here to help you.

THANKS VERY MUCH TO THIS WEB PAGE, BECAUSE IT WARNED ME IN TIME.

Someone, who do this scam, sent me the same documents as I can see on this page. She or he found me on webpage www.aupair-world.net where I created profile. I can´t say something wrong about the aupair webpage, but I have to tell my true story. And as you can see there is many way how someone can mislead you and how someone can contact you.

The person introduced herself by name Karen Wilson. She has just this email adress: [email protected]

Thanks again so so much.
by Chris Fuller Thu Aug 02, 2012 2:03 am
Hello Zarkont, and welcome to ScamWarners. Thank you for taking the time to tell others about the fake Karen Wilson. Could you also post the first one or two emails which you received from Karen - au pair scammers usually send identical emails to dozens of au pairs at the same time, so it will be useful for other people to see these mails.

Also: the agency or other person or department which Karen told you to contact will also be fake, and part of the scam. It would be helpful, therefore, if you posted their email address too, so that when other au pairs google this, they can also realise that it is part of scam.
by BerenikaW Sun Aug 26, 2012 10:09 am
Hi. I'm Berenika from Poland. I registred in just for to warn you! I got message on my facebook from Karen Wilson.
Hello and how are you doing? Am Karen a host family from New York, seems i saw your profile on Aupair world and I wanna know if you'll be interested in been our Aupair for my little daughter. I recently deactivated my account not knowing I will be needing someone soon.
If interested please send me an email on [email protected] so i can forward more details
Thanks
Karen

I didn't realised that she might be a scammer, so I mailed her with question about more details. This is what I got in reply:

I am really happy that you replied me and interested in working for our family, I hope you'll enjoy working for our family. Here is a little about us:

THE FAMILY
Our family now have a busier schedule, I started working full time as a financial controller 8.00am to 5.30pm, run his own pipe-lining
business which is based on Civil Engineering (so we're not always available at home) so we are looking for some assistance with Chloe and around the house. Hopefully you can add another language for her to learn and experience a different culture. Our friends, who live minutes away, have an au pair from Spain and it's working really well for them.

We live on 571 Academy St , New York NY, which am sure you know is a big city. I am down to Earth, blunt and take things the way they come. I am a very friendly person and easy to get along with. You will have no problem in adapting to our lifestyle here. We will need your services due to the time commitment that is demanding by our job. We want you to know that you'll never have any cause to regret taking up this job. If you smoke and you want to smoke it's most no be in my home cause we don't smoke in the house and definitely not in front of my daughter, I must say here that were Christian family and we are devoted to our Religion.

CHLOE
My lovely daughters name is Chloe she will be 2 by September, we enrolled her at a kindergarten school this year, after which she will also
proceed to elementary school. She is welcoming and though she is young, she has a warm reception for people and she has got friendly attitude too. She likes playing a lot and I do not think you will not have any problem with her so far she eats and plays well. Very intelligent and fun to be with, she likes candy, chocolate enjoys watching cartoon. You’ll enjoy staying with her.

SALARY
You will be entitled to a pay of $1250 every month while you will also be given an entitlement of $80 every week for petty expenses which you might need for yourself. This salary is subject to negotiations for an upward review upon your arrival.

SCHEDULE
We would appreciate help getting the Chloe ready for school and walking her down (5mins), collecting her from school, getting her meal ready and sitting down to go through her home work or school activities (at this age its not too taxing!!), taking her out on her
bike or to the park which requires crossing one road and you're there. Food shopping (next to school) and keeping the house tidy, along with meal preparation. There is a good bus service and train network however we are looking at providing a small car. This would give you more freedom and allow you to have trips with her. We love occasional nights out and can agree on evenings and schedule when required.

ROOM
A well furnished bedroom will be made available for your personal use soon as you get here. You will also be provided with a personal
computer connected to the internet so you can keep in contact with relatives, TV and other necessary things at your disposal. There will be enough privacy for you; I guess you'll really like it.
You are free to start as soon as possible, I will appreciate you coming immediately but any date of your choice will also be welcomed.
You have every weekend as your off days as my husband will not be going to work during weekends except special overtime.

STUDY
You will be free to study in any school of your choice soon as you get here that's if you still want to. I will be helping you as regards
tuition fees and there are so many colleges and Universities here that offer good and qualitative courses. We’ll be willing to help you with that.

Let me know if you are ready to take up this position and probably get some more pictures from you?

I will love to know how long you want to stay with us and if the salary is good by you?

Do you have a valid passport and other necessary document needed for Visa Application?

Thanks.

She also sent me 2 attachments with pictures: baby wearing sunglasses and a picture of "the family".

I truly believe she is a scammer.
I wanted to share this with you guys, so you can be aware of this.
Please, share this with every Au-Pair the scammer might mail.

See ya.
by Chris Fuller Tue Aug 28, 2012 6:35 am
Hello Berenika, and welcome to ScamWarners. Thank you for posting the email which you received - yes, it is 100% a scam.

If you are looking for an au pair position in the USA, it will be useful for you to know that the US Government currently allows 14 sponsors only to run Au Pair programs in the USA. You can read about this here:

http://j1visa.state.gov/programs/au-pair/

http://j1visa.state.gov/participants/how-to-apply/

And you will find a list of designated sponsors here:

http://j1visa.state.gov/participants/ho ... =&x=14&y=8

You must go through one of those agencies if you wish to become an au pair in the United States. You can contact these agencies directly, or you may be able to find an agency in your own country who is working in partnership with one of the US designated sponsor agencies. You can find details of International Au Pair Association (IAPA) agencies in your own country here:

http://www.iapa.org/members/member-list/

Click on 'Alphabetical by Country' for the full list.

reply

Hello,
How are you? hope you are doing fine. I am very happy that you are interested and willing to work for us. I must assure you that everything is going to work out just fine here. Of course any starting time of yours is okay with us so it might interest you to know little about the family and the job expectations.
ABOUT US
I'm working with the a Law firm as Public Relation Officer here, live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. while my husband works as a consultant. I am down to earth, blunt and take things the way they come. I am a very friendly person and easy to get along with. You will have no problem in adapting to our lifestyle here. We will be needing your services due to the time commitment that is demanding by our job. We want you to know that you'll never have any cause to regret taking up this job.
THE KIDS
My last child is a Girl her name is Chloe and she is 4 years old, she is at kindergarten school and she will soon proceed to elementary school to join her brother. She is welcoming and though she is young, she has a warm reception for people and she has got friendly attitude too. She likes playing a lot and I do not think you will not have any problem with her so far she eats and plays well. Lewis is 7 years old, he is a bright boy very intelligent and ease going, he's in the fourth year in elementary school. He likes candy, chocolate and he likes watching cartoon movies and cycling with our Neighbors in the neighborhood. He also likes playing a father role because he's always with me in the absence of their father, being the first child and the only son he likes taking responsibilities and this amaze me and his father cause he is Just seven and he act much more older than his age.
CITY
We live in a big city with attractive views, natural environments and nice structures. "Surely here as well as other cities. People of this place and other states are very simple in their manners, Everybody is neither Poverty nor Riches, each house is quite okay, and every man has a trade and other good job opportunities and student are also responsible in their respective schools, Most importantly there is no distinction of Persons." Somethings are expensive like housing and car sales but most of other things are affordable like food, clothes and many more. But I really cant say much except you come here and see for yourself, Okay. More so here; life is so easy and organized, you can hardly miss anything you need. It is just that no matter what you are here to do you must stay focused and enjoy yourself while not being distracted. This will be the best place for you to experience and I am sure you will have fun.
SCHEDULE
Your job is not a hard one, I do not believe in supervising or monitoring people to do their job.I believe people should be giving a free role in whatever they do. So, I believe you should be able to perform well without being told. All entails preparing the kids for school in the morning, taking Lewis and Chloe to the point where the school bus picks them up to school. You will have a free period then whereby you can do any vocation or practice or time for studying if you are type or whatever is at your disposal. Then you help monitor them after they are brought home by the school bus, just to make sure they are alright till my arrival from work.
Morning: help children get dressed, feeding, prepare for morning activities<school, play class etc>
Afternoon: participate in other activities, library, swimming lessons, read books, play games, listen to music.
Evening: help prepare dinner, give them baths, help them put on pajamas, Help them with any projects and school activities.
SALARY
You will have $5.8 for 8.50 hours per day for 23 days(23 days out 31 days of the month) makes or equals $1,200 plus $70 every week for your petty expenses, your off days are the weekends Saturday and Sunday makes up the remain 8 days to make up the 31 days of the month so you won't be paid during those days but In case you have to work during your off days your per pay will be at $6.00 per hour and it will be added to your end of the month salary. This salary is subject to negotiations for an upward review upon your arrival and I am sure this pays you more in return because you are going to have a substantial savings.
You will be provided with a well furnished bed room in the house as soon as you get here with your personal bathroom. We will also endeavor to get you a personal desktop computer connected to the internet(and if you have your laptop you can also bring it along), TV and other necessary gadgets at your disposal. There is no problem with you having a cell phone but you are also left with the option of using the home line to reach whoever you want to contact. There will be enough privacy for you, I guess you'll really like it.
STUDY
You will be free to study in any school of your choice around soon as you get here. I will be helping you as regards course fee. There are so many colleges and universities here that offer good and qualitative part time courses here like English language and many more but you we will discuss more about this when you arrive fully, okay.
OFF DAYS
You have every weekend as your off day as I will not be going to work during weekends except special overtime.
Concerning the when to start and your length of your stay?- I am sure that you will quite agree with me that it will be a great idea if we can start the processing of your Visa, Return Flight, Work permit, Insurance and other traveling documents any moment from now so that you can have them ready as to avoid any delay on your part, you will be applying for it through the agency here in the States, they helped us with our past Au pairs and the experience has been wonderful. Their processing is usually about 2-3 weeks with a safe and reliable service so in that case we have no choice than to wait and get all the visa and required documents so get back to me so that we can have that arranged.
How long do you intend staying with us? This is actually open to both of us as you will have your own schedule but as for us you are free to stay with us for any period so let's know your decision about that.
Feel free to ask any question, we will not hesitate to answer you but I will still appreciate if you can tell us more about you, your city and your family if any again?.
I will be sending more pictures later.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
With Love.
Sara

then my reply (...)

and they sent:

Hello,

How are you? hope you are fine. It is so good to hear from you again and I am sure that carefully understood our mail and thank you for the compliments and detailed message. More importantly I believe now that there will be a change because we are ready to take you as part of our family. I want you to know more that Lewis love to play basketball and lots of video games while Chloe takes interest in music like dancing and imitating people that plays the piano and blows the flutes so when she grows much older I would like to enroll her in a music school. I am sure that you will have a lovely experience with our children and family at large. As regards the visa and traveling with us and your cooperation it is not going to be difficult and I am of strong conviction to assure you of your safety. Of course any starting time of yours and you staying with us for the first 3 months as you have suggested and then later extending it to 6 months is okay hoping it will be great time for us to get along well for you to enjoy your stay. As I have said earlier that we will be directing you with an agent here in the state for the processing of your visa and traveling so in that case they will be providing and guiding you with all the information needed such that you have smooth presentation and clearance as soon as they are through with your visa and traveling packages, okay. Please I will like you to follow instructions so that there are no mistakes as much as possible. It is okay here as the life is so easy and organised, you can hardly miss anything you need. This will be the best place for you to experience and I am sure you will enjoy and have fun. Please encourage yourself to be calm and relax being your new experience to the States and I know you might be worried that you are traveling a bit far from home and you know you will definitely miss your family and friends. Anyway that is what is expected of every individual but it is going to be a great experience as well. So I want you to see me as your big mum while at this time I need your full support and encouragement to achieve your dream and make it a reality to be part of our family.

As regards your questions:

1. Do you have any pets? No
2. How do you and your family live? We are a very good lovely family, we love going out on weekends to the cinema and we do things together which your presence as the newest member of the family will be needed too.
3. Drivers license? Ofcourse it is not compulsory but if you have then it will be a great advantage for use to use our car here any time.
4. Chores? Maybe making Chloe and Lewis happy by keeping their rooms tidy and making use of the laundry.
5. When the children come from home? They come home by 2pm.
6. Curfew? None
7. What I liked about your profile? I liked your picture and enjoyed every bit of the information you provided there which I believe you will be the best for this job. So kindly send me more pictures.

More so I hope you know that getting to USA and securing a valid visa, return flight ticket and other traveling documents may be quite expensive but I want to assure you that we are always ready to give you a helping hand because am really convinced you will be a good Au Pair in my home and I want to see to that fact that you make it here without any delay. So concerning the processing we will have to get it done through our agent because of our past experience: so it will only be perfect to apply through them, they helped us with our last Au pair and it was very great and also very secured patronizing them. Concerning your processing and all traveling expenses, I believe you know that our family must also pay some amount of money too, that means; you will also be paying your own part of the total traveling expenses which is affordable, but right now I cannot give you the current cost breakdown and processing details except you make contact. I want us to make progress without any delay so that you can join us in good time without any delay when you are ready. I am sure that the Processing usually takes around 2 to 3 weeks and so by then you will have received all your traveling packages. So concerning the processing you will have to contact our agent Mr. Benson Foster on this email address: [email protected] for all details of the processing of your Visa, Return Flight, Work Permit, Insurance and other traveling documents including the Total Cost, please tell him "Your name, address, country, personal cell phone no and that you have found your American Host family (Stone's family, living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.) and also tell him the time you intend to start and also that you will be staying with us for the first 3 months which is open to visa extension for more months)''.

Please I want you to note that sometimes you can receive my mail or agency's response in your Spam Message as it maybe relayed there due to Internet error and if you are not aware of it from now it will take a long time for you to know while awaiting your response or theirs. So in order for us to move ahead at the right time and avoid any form of delay please do take note of that, okay.

Kindly get back to me with whatever they tell you so that we can discuss better. I will be expecting your reply soonest.

Make sure you contact them as soon as possible, okay.

Yours sincerely,
With Love.

sad stuff, I got pictures also if anyones interested plus I found them on the internet as well. Apparently there's no such agency they're talking about. Why would you do this to teenagers, really. :?:

I got also a facebook message, where a woman told, she is looking a nanny for her boss children. I got suspicious already in the start because she sent 2 messages about 10 hours apart and the messages were almost the same.

So here are the messages:

1)i am looking forward to securing an Aupair/nanny for my boss here in America. i saw your profile on
aupairworld.net.kindly get back to me
if you are interested in this offer....

2)I saw your profile in aupairworld.net as a nanny or au pair,Are u interested in working for my boss here in usa as a nanny or au pair in taking care of his kids..kindly let me know if u are interested in this job offer,

I thought it doesn´t hurt to answer, so i sent her a message:

Hello. I am interested in this job offer, but I want to know more about it. Thanks for contacting me.

And I got an answer:

Thanks so much for showing interest...I will like u to forward me your e-mail also I will like you to contact the host family thru this email markstonecares at aol dot com..am sure they will tell u more about the job..but I can assure u they are a very nice family..

This message got me extra thinking, because in her facebook profile it shows she is an university student. Shouldn´t an university student have a more proper language? Then I put that e-mail adress to a google search and I found this page. I´m glad I found it,because I couldn´t think what horrible things could have happened to me.
And then I noticed that her facebook profile was made only a few days ago and she had about 5 girls added to her friend beside me. Should I contact them and warn them?

PS: sorry for my English,it´s not my mother tongue :)

Hello Karolyyy, and welcome to ScamWarners. Your English is very good!

I'm so glad that you were wise, and researched this fake family. It is so kind of you, too, to want to warn other people about this scam. Please don't contact the scammer's Facebook Friends, though, because they might tell the scammer about this - and the scammer may cause trouble for you.

If you would like to post the scammer's Facebook link, however - or PM it to myself - we can continue to warn about this scam.
