As you discovered, a scammer can show their true character when they realise that they are not going to be able to steal money from you.

The writer of these emails is not really a lady living in the USA; the emails were really sent by a man who lives in Nigeria.

Please stop all contact with this scammer now; as you can see, he is not a nice man at all, and he is a thief. Also, please don't tell him that his scam is publicized here. Sometimes, when a scammer learns that his scam has been revealed, he will change his false name and his email address, and hope that now nobody will know that he is a scammer. Of course, we will probably soon learn about his new false name and email address - but in the meantime, it is possible that au pairs have their money stolen by him.

It is always better when a scammer keeps his usual fake name and email address, so that an au pair can find the scam warning about him when she or he googles the name and address.
