This is not a genuine au pair opportunity; it is a scam. You can see near-identical emails from the scammer calling himself James Morrison here:

I've got the same mail, just the name is Morris Carter. He's still trying to convince me that his letter was abused! :D

You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.

Welcome here Pinkygirl.

Could you post the email address that this Morris Carter is using?

Being a victim doesn't mean you stand alone. We're here to help you.

The scammer calling himself Benald Johnson, instead of requesting payment from the au pair, may instead offer to send the au pair money for the visa fee.

If this should be offered to you, please understand this:

The money that he wants you to receive will either be a fake cheque or money order; or money that he has stolen from other victims - this could be sent by Western Union or MoneyGram, or paid directly into your bank account

The scammer will then either:

- Allow you to pay the real Embassy's Visa Application with some of the money, but ask that the extra/surplus money that has been sent is returned to him, or sent to an accomplice of his. The accomplice of his may pretend to be a travel agent, or a lawyer - but this will be a lie; it will actually be his criminal partner;

or:

- The 'Immigration' agent he tells you to send the money to will be fake, and you will be really sending the money directly to the scammer, or to his accomplice in this crime.

Remember: if you receive this money, it will either be a fake cheque/money order; or it will be money scammed and stolen from other victims.

Either way, you will be handling money obtained by fraud. This is a criminal offence, and when it is discovered, you could be investigated by the police or even arrested. This scammer has been using a false name, and he lives in Nigeria, and he will not be found. Only you will be able to be found.

Do NOT receive money from this scammer. If he has already sent you a cheque, it will be fake, and it is against the law for you to attempt to pay it into your bank account. If you receive a cheque from him, please take it immediately to the bank or to the police, and explain what has happened. Take some of the scammer's emails, printed out, with you, and tell the bank or the police that you believe this to be a fake cheque. Do not pay it into your bank account, nor keep it at home.

You can read more about cheque scams here:

If you have already received money directly into your bank account, or by Western Union or MoneyGram, please, again, print out some of the scammer's emails to you, and go and ask for advice from a lawyer or citizen's information centre, or somewhere else that you can receive advice about legal matters in your country.

And please stop all contact with this scammer.
