Hello missevo,

Welcome to ScamWarners, and thank you for posting these scam mails.

You are correct: they are the same emails (with the names changed) that can be seen elsewhere here. They were sent by the scammer who also calls himself Maxwell Johnson; and the third mail was sent by the same scammer, pretending to be Janson Moore. You can see these scams here:

Maxwell Johnson

Janson Moore

As you realise that this is a scam, please don't write to this person again. He is a criminal, and it is not wise to continue communicating with a criminal.

If you receive any other emails from au pair scammers, though, please do post them (as separate/new topics) here as well - then other au pairs can be warned that they are scams, and avoid having their money stolen by these thieves.

Hello Chris,

I think that this is very very useful webside but unfortunately a lot of people don't know it.
It seems that majority of scammers come from UK, I don't understand it ...
In August I am going to Germany as au pair but my family is serious and I hope everything gone well.

The majority actually come from Africa, and are simply pretending to be in UK.

They do this for a few reasons:
1) A lot of people looking for au pair jobs would like to go to UK
2) They can sit at their computers in Africa or Malaysia and set up free redirect phone numbers that make them appear to be in UK. The phone numbers help to make them look more real.
3) The scammers generally understand English (though they make mistakes) so it's easier for them to pretend to be from a country where English is the language. If they pretended to be from a country with another language, it would be much more work for them.

After UK, you will find the second most popular place they pretend to be is the United States, mostly for the reasons above--they can get US phone numbers too, but it isn't quite as easy to do.
