Dear Olena
I was very pleased to speak to you today on the phone. I would like to
repeat much of what I said and talk about our next steps.
I would like you to help me take care of David (4) and Benedict (2.5).
They are both lovely energetic little boys, They have been speaking both
Russian and English all their lives. They love playing in the garden.
They have one cousin, Luke, who lives very close and who they see quite
often. As I mentioned to you I am a single parent.
At the moment David goes to pre-school every day from 9-12 and Benedict
goes twice per week from 1-3.30. From September David will go to full
school which will start 9 each day and finish between 3 and 6. Benedict
will then go to pre-school 9-12 everyday. During their summer holiday
they will both attend a variety of kindergarden and other children's
activities each day.
At the present time we have a very nice Russian lady helping me to look
after the children two days per week and a Polish lady who can some part
time baby sitting.
We live in a small semi detached house in Broxbourne in Hertfordshire in
England just north of London. Broxbourne is half way between London's
Stanstead airport and the centre of London. It takes about half and hour
by train to reach either the centre of London or the airport.
You will have your own small room private room in the house.
We also own a larger house in Prague in Czech Republic. We may also
visit this while you are with us and we might take you with us on these
trips
This would involve helping me with their daily routine including basic
meal preparation, bathing and getting dressed, taking them to school,
the park, the zoo or other events, lunch and dinner feeding, and putting
them to bed. On Sundays they always come with me to church.
I will certainly want you to speak Russian to the boys at home and
undertake some reading lessons in Russian.
This will involve in a normal week around 35 hours work plus some
evenings babysitting when they are asleep. We would plan for you to have
two days off each week.
I also need to travel for my job and this will probably mean about 3-4
nights away each two weeks. When I am away then you would need to look
after the boys the whole day including taking care of all trips to
school and all meals.
My sister and her husband live 5-10 minutes drive from our house and my
mother less than five minutes drive away and they are always nearby to
support us.
We would pay 55 GBP each week and this would increase to 70 GBP each
week when I travel for thee days.
Next Steps
I would like to speak to your teacher to get a reference for you.
If possible I would also like to speak to someone who you did
babysitting for before.
I would then like you to make an application for a Visa to the British
Embassy in Kiev as soon as possible. To support this application I would
write a letter of support and I would make a call to embassy in Kiev to
explain to them that we have asked for you come and be an au pair for us
in the UK.
I would then like to plan for you to come to the UK as soon as is
possible. If we could organise for this to be 10 July I would be delighted.
I very much look forward to hearing from you and speaking to you tomorrow.
Kind regards
Ed
